Congregational Mission Support Forms
There is still time to submit your mission support form. Each year as congregations set their ministry spending plan, the synod is also planning financial commitments on behalf of all congregations of the synod. Congregations are asked to please submit the form online or in pdf format. The form can be accessed on the Synod's website. If you have questions please call the Synod Center for Ministry at 319-338-1273 or email Kathy Smith at smith@seiasynod.org or go to our website here.

A Framework for Understanding Poverty
Is poverty a problem in your community? Interested in helping but you don't know where to start?

The first step to helping make a difference in the lives of people living in poverty is to understand the obstacles they encounter everyday. This insight can help provide the support others need to break the cycle of generational poverty.

To learn more about the effects of living in poverty and what you can do to help, attend A Framework for Understanding Poverty on Saturday, April 18 in Marshalltown, IA. Using Ruby Payne’s  book, Bridges out of Poverty, as a reference this 7-hour course is designed to give participants insight into the challenges that people face to improve their lives.

This event is sponsored by the Southeastern Iowa Synod and the Marshall County ELCA Hunger Ministries Team. Click here for more information and to register.
