Nick’s Apple Cider Tonic

Growing up in New England, the cold weather has always been a factor producing its wrath of flues and cold like symptoms. My mother had a recipe she swore by from her French Canadian roots (no pun intended). It was a harsh shot to take straight as a kid, as her recipe called for a healthy amount of horseradish root and hot peppers. She always served it with a shot of maple syrup from my great uncles farm in a rural part of Quebec. Through the years I created an Apple Cider tonic shot that fit my flavor profile and made a good impression on anyone who was brave enough to give it a try.
