One of the largest flea markets in North Texas, it features more than 450 vendors who sell their wares the weekend before the third Monday each month. (Even Santa shops here!) Parking $5 on Sat.-Sun. before 3 p.m. Admission free. Hours are Friday-Sunday 9 a.m.–5 p.m. 4550 W. University.

The Guitar Sanctuary presents Jason Elmore & Hoodoo Witch with special guest Elmont on Friday starting at 8 p.m. at The Sanctuary Music & Events Center; doors open at 7 p.m. This show will be filmed for a live DVD. VIP Tables with seating for four directly in front of the stage are $150 per table. Downstairs seats (first come, first served) are $25. Holidays at the Heard (Dec. 15-16): Enjoy the beauty of the season in nature when lights and holiday décor turn a half-mile Heard nature trail into a magical wonderland! Have a photo taken with Father Christmas and Mother Nature while you enjoy hot beverages and treats (available for purchase). Local musicians will delight audiences with live holiday music discounted thru Dec. 14. Full price tickets at the door.

Dinosaurs Live! (Through Feb. 18) 
Encounter the 46-foot T-Rex and nine new life-size animatronic dinosaurs along the Heard Museum’s nature trails at the 12th annual Dinosaurs Live! Photo op and play area dinosaurs available too. The dinosaur trail is jogging stroller friendly. Included with admission.

Nature Story Time (Friday) 
This weekly program features stories related to nature; classes sometimes outdoors; dress accordingly. Included with admission. 10:30-11 p.m

The 4th Annual Holiday Jazz Concert 
(Thursday)
Join us for our annual event of Holiday Jazz by the JazzMark Trio featuring Mark Noethen on piano and vocals, Jay Gewertz on drums and Gustavo Finessi on bass. The trio will play original arrangements of holiday favorites and the ever-popular music from A Charlie Brown Christmas. Filter(ed) Craft Coffee house hosts a table of hot cider, coffee and sweets to compliment the wonderful holiday atmosphere in Noble Hall. 7:30-8:30 p.m. $12 adults, $8 students.

MRT Presents: A Christmas Carol (shown, Friday-Saturday)
Dickens' "A Christmas Carol" tells the story of Ebeneezer Scrooge, an old man who transforms his miserly ways after four ghostly visits one Christmas Eve. $11 general admission. 7:30-8:30 p.m. on Friday, 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. on Saturday.
 
 
 
 
 
It's Santa Time in McKinney!

Santa on the Square (Shown)  Book appointment now for your kids' visit and photos with Santa in his downtown square workshop Fridays-Sundays through Dec. 17. Proceeds benefit Volunteer McKinney.

Letters to Santa: Kids can drop their Letters to Santa in the vintage 1911 Post Office Exhibit at the Collin County History Museum (300 E. Virginia). 10 a.m .-4 p.m.
 
 
 
 
 
Local artist David Hobson shares his work with the public in a show this weekend at The Cove, 402 N. Tennessee. In 2009 David picked his pencils and brushes back up and began painting, focusing on commissioned portraits and figurative painting in both pastels and oils. He has successfully entered his work in several exhibits and competitions. Free to attend. See website for hours. (Shown, 2014's Music in Motion was selected to become part of McKinney’s public art collection at MPAC.)

A large, private collection of nativity sets will be on display at Mitas Hill Vineyard and Event Center, open to the public and free of charge. The exhibit will be on display Fridays and Saturdays, noon to 9 p.m., and Sundays noon to 7 p.m. throughout the month.
