It's All About Our People!

This past week we celebrated our hardworking and talented employees at our year end staff party. Many have already departed to return home or school and many more will leave us by the end of the month. We are always so grateful for the amazing people we meet each year. Here are some of our favorite photos taken this year as well as the winners of our photo contest to look back on great memories from the past summer.

Saying Goodbye (for now!)

Allison, our Farm Stand Concierge, sadly will be leaving the Farmily in early September.  For the past two years, Allison has been an incredible addition to the Farm as both a coworker and friend.  Though she will be back to visit, her friendly smile and outstanding customer service will be missed sorely missed!  Here is a look back at Allison’s Who’s Your Farmer bio from April, 2018.  Make sure to say good bye and good luck to Allison on the next chapter of her journey! Here’s to you Allison!

Allison first came to Bartlett’s Farm in September 2017, starting as a full time Farm Hand Stand Concierge. A life-long learner, Allison continues to learn about the farm’s food and wine, and is great at matching them to customers tastes.  Her aunt bought a cottage in Madaket in the 1950's, and it was passed to her several years ago. It is a favorite spot for family vacations and gatherings which usually include croquet tournaments.  She loves the outdoors and you can find her gardening, kayaking and enjoying the outdoors!

We are optimistically hoping to find someone as amazing (hard to imagine) to fill Allison’s shoes! Please click here if you might be the one...

Farm Grown Goodness, A Family Affair!

Did you know that that Bartlett's Farm fields are still farmed by the family themselves?

Well, it's true! Phil Bartlett still clocks over 60 + hours a week in the fields! That's dedication!

Customer Service Manager, Lauren Keereweer, shares her delicious recipe for the best grilled corn!

Completely submerge your corn still in the husk for 30-45 minutes- the longer the better! You want your husks to be soft, if the outside pieces don’t peal back easily put them back in the water.

After corn has soaked slowly pull back each husk, don’t completely remove the husk (some will fall off, save them you can use them later!)

Once you’ve pulled back all the husks remove the silks.
Melt butter (for 2 ear I usually use ¼ of a stick)
Season with whatever you like! My go-to is fresh crushed garlic, pepper (heavy on the pepper) and salt.
Using a basting brush spread your butter over each ear of corn. Slowly pull husks back up around the corn
Using butchers string (in a pinch I use long pieces of the husk) tie the husk so they stay up around your corn, roughly an inch from the top of the piece.

Get your grill good and hot, place the corn on and flip when needed! If the sides start to move a bit, let the corn hit the grill! Those are the coveted crispy pieces!
