The Office of the Bishop has started receiving great photos and videos of buckets in action. Don't have a bucket yet? Get one before they're gone.

The Water and The Witness is the theme for the upcoming 2018 Synod Assembly. We hope you will join us in supporting water-related ministries of the ELCA with your commitment of at least $500, we will supply you with a bucket.

Buckets are available to any group or individual that will commit to raising or contributing at least $500 toward a special offering at the Southeastern Iowa Synod Assembly, May 18-19. ALL of that offering will support water ministries of the ELCA.

“Forgiveness guaranteed. Repentance optional” (sign in front of a Lutheran church).

This year Ash Wednesday and Valentine’s Day fall on the same date. It seems like an odd pairing—Ash Wednesday, a day of solemn repentance and honest reckoning of our brokenness, and Valentine’s Day, a lighthearted celebration of love. Prayers
We pray with humility and repentance as we begin our journey through Lent that, even in our imperfection and weakness, we never lose sight of the good news that God’s love and mercy are unwavering and that our lives are made new and whole through our baptism into Christ’s life, death and resurrection.
