First Crops are Taking Root!
Always one of our first crops to be ready for harvest, our head lettuce does wonderfully in the fields, providing our customers with a steady stream of fresh greens all summer!
Our broccoli crop is looking bigger than it's britches with huge leaves reaching skyward! The Broccoli head itself is still quite small, needing a couple more weeks of sun to reach harvest size.
Farmer Andrew is having great success with growing Heirloom tomatoes in the Greenhouses. The sheltered space provides ideal growing conditions for the plants while keeping excess wind and rain at bay, helping to protect the plants from rot and breakage.
Our "super hot" pepper varieties are coming right along, planted in a warm, endlessly sunny, wind-free area between two organic greenhouses. Peppers grow best in hot, dry weather, hence their popularity in Mexican, Indian and Thai cuisines. We like to make ours into hot sauce! Look for these peppers to be ready in July.
FREE Farm Tours have Commenced
A great way to learn about Bartlett's farm, these tours are led by our lovely & talented Farm hand,  Allison!
The walking tours meet weekly in front of the Market at 10 am on Wednesdays through August 5th.
They are weather dependent, and will take guests down to the lower greenhouses so close toed shoes are recommended!

Why Use Native Plants in your Garden?
Native plants are more than “buzzwords”! These plants are better adapted to our climate, soil conditions, as well as more resistant to environmental pathogens and pests. Generally speaking, most deer and rabbit resistant lists contain a large number of native plants, they have adapted over time to become unpalatable to foragers. Native plants, once established, require less water and fertilizer, and are more beneficial for birds, bees, and butterflies. By using Natives you can create a garden of beautiful biodiversity that gives back more than it takes!
Find these green American Beauty pots throughout the garden center all are US natives most are native to the north east coast. If you have questions or would like to learn more about natives and using them in your landscape please stop in a see me in the Garden Center, I am always happy to talk plants.

Summer is all about the Picnic
Beach time means lots of packing up and toting food and drinks to the beach or boat, on bikes or in backpacks. Over time, those disposable ziplock bags can really add up. Enter Stasher bags. Airtight, reusable silicone bags that you can cook, store, and freeze. Stasher bags have prevented millions of single-use plastics from piling up in landfills and polluting our oceans. We have a myriad of sizes that are perfect for the beach, lunch bag, or for marinating chicken or steak with your favorite seasonings. Available in the gadget section by our produce cooler!
Flower Hour!
Spend an hour out in the flower fields, picking flowers, taking photos, and enjoying the beauty that the farm offers. We provide clippers and direction, you cut bouquets to suit your suit your style. Reservations are required. Meet in front of the market a few minutes before 9 am  so we can head out the field and get picking!
Reservations available on our website!

Who's Your Farmer? Get to Know our Staff
Peter Bopp,
Ice Cream Truck Manager

Welcome home, Peter Bopp! Peter is a born and raised Nantucket native and  7th generation member of the Bartlett family! He has lived in the same house for 21 years overlooking the farms fields.  Like most natives, Peter’s first impression of Nantucket is that it's home! However over the past couple years he has found a great appreciation for Nantucket. The people, sights and beautiful beaches are unmatched by anywhere else according to Peter.  Peter is on break from Johnson and Wales University where he has been studying Business Administration.  Peter started working on the Farm when he was 12 years old, starting as a member of the field crew! He has helped in the market, as well as on the Town and 'Sconset produce trucks.  On a daily basis, Peter looks forward to the daily sights, smells and natural beauty of the Farm.  Both the growth of the business and the growth of the fields brings a great sense of pleasure and pride to this young farmer.  When Peter isn’t working he can be found on the beach or playing yard games with friends, and  sometimes enjoys the guilty pleasure of driving around the island taking in the sights that never seem to get old! Fun fact about Peter, he has played hockey his entire life and enjoys a myriad of outdoor sports like snowboarding, skiing, surfing and skateboarding. We look forward to watching Peter make the Ice Cream Truck his own!
“I am blessed to have been brought up on the farm and as a Bartlett.  Being on the farm and working from a young age has given me a great work drive and inspires me to continue to build the farm and see it continue to grow.”
