Updates
Today's temperature:  11
ºC
Tomorrow’s temperature: 12ºC; Sunday: 8ºC
Trail Conditions: Leafy...
Hours of operation: Monday - Sunday 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Our trails are now enveloped with the resultant transaction of leaves doing what they are supposed to do at this time of the year. There are a few deciduous holdouts, however, perhaps posturing for some sort of arboreal status (“poplarity” contest?)… But their time will come soon, as we all know that leaves falling on groomed ski trails are strictly forbidden.

Speaking of skiing (of which we do year round), now is a great time to assess your equipment inventory: skis, boots, poles, waxes, clothing, etc.  If there are plans for augmentation or replacement, opportunities for fulfillment of this initiative are currently optimal, as most suppliers have received their winter stock and will have the best selection of sizes, styles, and variety. If you are in need of a dispersal plan for equipment that no longer suits your needs, please note that the annual Edmonton Nordic Ski Club Ski Swap will be held on Nov. 3 at the Tiger Goldstick Park pavilion.

While are trails are not yet ski ready (unlike last season!), there are still opportunities to enjoy, including  the annual Turkey Trot fun run in support of the Food Bank will take place on Sunday, October 27 – see below for more details.

See you on the trails!

Runners with Attitude and Track n Trail present the 2019 Turkey Trot
October 27, 2019

Join us Sunday, October 27th at 11 AM at the Strathcona Wilderness Centre as we race to help those in need. All proceeds and food is picked up at the event to go straight to the Food Bank!

Registration is free (please register as it helps us track our numbers and saves us on time on race day), but we ask all participants to bring a frozen turkey, equivalent cash or non-perishable items and more for donation for the Food Bank.

You can register by clicking here

Just a reminder that while we adore and love running with our furry friends, there are no dogs or pets allowed at the Strathcona Wilderness Centre.

Last year we raised:

$750
11 turkeys
1 small chicken
1 box of drumsticks
3 – ½ hams
1 turkey breast
168 lb of food

So how about we beat that?

3 Distances: 5k, 10k and 2.5k kids loop.
Lots of awesome prizes, including Best Costume! It's October 27th, so get in the Halloween spirit and come dressed for fun.

See you there!
