Please bring in kitchen garbage bags, not the very large black garbage bags so the bags are not too heavy. What We DO NOT Want Old, smelly (including cigarette smell), stained, moldy, damaged or wet clothing, items from storage units, large toys, furniture, books, DVDs, VHS, electronic items, appliances, used household linens, or socks. Please DO NOT bring in such items because it will make the donation process longer and will waste space in the transport vehicle. Where and When can you drop off your donations? All donations can be brought to TBM from Sunday 10/28 – Friday 11/2, and Sunday 11/4 when the temple is open or religious school is in session. There will be No Drop Off on Saturday 11/3 because of a private event. Items should be brought to classroom 15 on the lower level. If you feel you will need assistance carrying your items to the lower level, please bring them on one of the Sundays during religious school when someone will be there to assist you. There will be no assistance during the week. Help Needed We will need volunteers to load bags into the transportation car on Sunday 11/4. Anyone interested in serving on the Board of Trustees should communicate with Mike Gross, Chair of the Nominating Committee, either by calling him at 732-219-5486 or emailing him at mgross@ghclaw.com.         Movie Night & Dinner The Women's Balcony The Programming Committee of Temple Beth Miriam presents Dinner and a Movie on Saturday night, October 27, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. with a showing of "The Women's Balcony", an Israeli film which was a New York Times and Los Angeles Times Critics Pick and Israel's #1 film of the year. An accident during a bar mitzvah celebration leads to a gender rift in a Orthodox community in Jerusalem. A good hearted tale about women speaking truth to patriarchal power. Preceding the film will be an Italian dinner catered by Nick's Grill and Restaurant of Wanamassa. The cost is only $15 per person. All religious school students in grades 1-12 can sing with us! Rehearsals will be Sundays, November 18 after school and December 2 during school. We will be singing on Friday, December 7 for Shabbat during Chanukah. Email Cantor Marnie to sign up your child: cantor@bethmiriam.org.         Beth Miriam Donates Torah to Barcelona Synagogue   Over the more than one hundred years of Beth Miriam, we have acquired Torah scrolls from various places.  In fact, a few years ago, we added a new Torah to our Ark.  There were Torahs that were no longer being used, generally because of age and the Religious Practices Committee and the Board agreed to donate a Torah under the Rabbi's guidance.  We are happy to report that a brand new young Reform congregation in Barcelona, Spain is now the guardian of that special scroll.  May they read it in joy and may it be the Tree of Life to which that new congregation clings for many years.          Teen Academy     Stay engaged! Our next Teen Academy is on October 21.  First class 9-10:30.  Second class 10:30-12:00 pm.
