RAD Notice & Supplemental GuidanceHUD Webinar

In case you missed HUD’s webinar yesterday on the recent RAD and Section 18 changes, HUD has just posted it and related materials on the RAD Resource Desk to review at your convenience. Or simply check out the presentation outline here.

The Recap Office also intends to conduct a follow-on Q&A session on the notices and guidance this Friday, 7/13. Look for a RADBlast! soon for details.

The 7/2 RADblast! offers a good summary of these changes, along with direct links to the new notice and guidance, a revised FY16 RAD Rent table for the balance of FY18 and a version of the Revision 3 RAD Notice reflecting these changes. To access all this information, click here.

RAD Collaborative Regional Convening

Columbus, OH—July 16-17, 2018

With a week to go, we are nearing capacity for the Summer 2018 RAD Collaborative Summer Convening in Columbus. We are looking into adding seats as possible, but that can’t be assured. Register soon if you haven’t already.

This will be a great chance to drill deeper into the recently-issued RAD notice, supplemental guidance and Section 18 Demo/Dispo notice with key HUD staff and experienced practitioners.

  • Tom Davis, Director of HUD's Recap Office & Jane Hornstein, Director of HUD's Special Application Center will start off our main Convening on July 17. They’ll offer further in-depth perspectives on the potential of the just-issued RAD notice and guidance—including what to expect in the upcoming notice on converting Section 202 PRAC properties under RAD.
  • Long-time RAD practitioners will help strategize on how to best apply the new RAD authority, tools and flexibilities. Plus, industry leaders will share insights into the state of the market with LIHTCs, Opportunity Zones, FHA financing and other evolving tools being used with RAD.
  • We’ll also undertake a new, next-level session on the tasks and challenges of moving an agency from the conventional public housing system to the Section 8/LIHTC platform.
  • A networking reception will conclude the day on July 17.
The primary Convening day will be Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at the Marriott Columbus University Area, 3100 Olentangy River Rd, Columbus, Ohio 43202—from 8:30 AM to 6:00 PM.
