Retreat Workshop News
from Michelle Hunter

Building with Lace Workshop
I invite you to be the first to preview the skills featured in my upcoming book, Building with Lace.  The three-day workshop will focus on lace techniques that will delight both the novice and experienced knitter alike.
We will spend our time together creating a gorgeous sampler scarf knit with HiKoo Rylie.  This luxuriously soft yarn is the perfect choice to showcase the high impact stitches.  One skein will yield a scarf approximately 7” x 40”, two skeins will give you enough length to fashionably double the scarf.
I’m so excited to share this new design with you.  Not only will the workshop increase your lace skills, it will broaden your knitting knowledge with lots of tips and tricks.  Get ready to work some knitting magic!

Materials
  • Rylie by HiKoo (50%Baby Alpaca, 25% Mulberry Silk, 25% Linen; 274 yds/100g), 1 (2) skeins
  • US #6 (4mm) needle.  I recommend a 24” sharp tipped circular, but straights may be used.
  • Size F crochet hook
  • Smooth, contrasting colored wate yarn, approx. 10 yards
  • Cable needle
  • Removable stitch markers
  • Tapestry needle
  • Sticky notes
  • 1 mm crochet hook
  • Size 6 beads

ALL Supplies for the Workshop will be available for purchase at the hotel

If you would like to make sure that we have a specific color for you, you can view and order all the colors of Rylie on our website.  If you select the shipping option of "pick up at shop or retreat" (free) we will have it for you at the retreat.  We will have lots of Rylie in all different colors at the retreat, but if 20 people to decide to select the color "Sea" for the 2-skein scarf, we will run out of "Sea".   If you see another color at the retreat that you prefer, you can also exchange.

Rylie Yarn
for Retreat Project

Rylie from HiKoo is a stunning blend of 3 luxurious fibers - baby alpaca, mulberry silk, and linen! These fibers unite to create a down-to-earth yarn laden with rustic texture, subtle sheen, and a soft halo that is nothing short of exceptional. Available in a gorgeous palette of neutral and pastel colors, this sport weight yarn is a trans-seasonal wonder - understated yet striking in its simplicity.
