Kristen Edelman-Weiner
Appointed Vice President of Synod Council

At its July meeting the Synod Council appointed Kristen Edelman-Weiner as Vice President. She will serve until elections at Assembly 2019. Kristen is a financial advisor with Thrivent Financial, where she works with her father, Scott, in leading their office’s practice for what will hopefully be another 27 years. She is married to Chad Weiner and they have three children: a daughter, Callia, and two sons, Brock and Shane.

Kristen writes: “I’m deeply humbled and honored to be called and appointed by Bishop Zeiser to the position of Vice President. I consider myself a “lifelong Lutheran,” and I am very passionate about the engagement of the ELCA church in our communities. We truly have a church to celebrate and share with others! It is my hope to use my time as Vice President to help shine the spotlight on these powerfully optimistic Good Works taking place in our congregations and among us in our communities.”
