MEDA Membership Nearing All-Time Record of 500
Help Us Reach It By Referring One Potential New Member!
In nearly 60 years of existence, the Michigan Economic Developers Association (MEDA) has never reached 500 members.

I am pleased to report, due to the outreach efforts of our great staff, the Board of Directors, and the existing membership, we are at 489 – only 11 away from that number!

I am also proud to let you know that the benefits of being a MEDA member are better than ever (and at a very low annual cost of only $295), with many great programs and services focused on education, networking, and advocacy at a statewide level that can enhance the careers of people in a variety of professions, including:
  • Brownfield Redevelopment
  • Business Finance
  • Chambers of Commerce
  • Community Development
  • Consulting
  • Downtown Development
  • Environmental Consulting
  • Higher Education
  • Municipalities
  • Planning
  • Private and Public Economic Development Organizations
  • Real Estate Development
  • State Agencies
  • Utilities and infrastructure
  • Workforce Development
Current MEDA members - we would love to announce we have reached 500 at our Annual Meeting in Marquette in August, and need your help to make it happen!

If you know of a person who is working in any of these areas and not currently a member, please email Cassandra at with their information, so we can reach out to them and discuss the benefits of joining!

With registration for this year's Annual Meeting already at 90, it is going well, and with the addition of Governor Whitmer as a speaker, we are expecting a great crowd in Marquette this year.

Please keep the following dates in mind if you are planning to, or thinking about, attending:
  • July 19th - Hotel Reservation Cutoff: Make your reservation here. We are encouraging everyone to reserve their hotel space as soon as possible due to the State Fair being nearby the same week.
  • July 29th - $15 Cost Increase: To save, Register now!
  • August 6th - Registration Cutoff: The MEDA staff will need to prepare materials and travel a couple of days earlier than usual and ask that you register before this date.
  • Tour Registration: This year, tours on Wednesday start before registration opens, so you need to sign up for them in advance. Contact Cassandra (below) if you have already registered want to add a tour.
