Thank you for your Mission Support!
Congregations in the synod continued to be generous by giving to mission support. In a year with much uncertainty, member remained faithful to commitments made and more. The mission interpretation ministry has prepared a “thank you” note that can be used with your members.  It is created as a bulletin insert, but can easily be copied to fit any form of communication you are using.  You can customize it with the amount of mission support that your congregation gave in 2020.

Please contact georgiasuranofsky@hotmail.com if you have any questions.

CDC UPDATES GUIDELINES
FOR FAITH COMMUNITIES

This past Friday, February 19, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) issued this updated guidance for communities of faith. It makes a strong recommendation to continue with Covid-19 precautions, and to avoid in-person gatherings if possible. It also encourages congregational councils and leaders to “offer options for [pastoral and office] staff at higher risk for severe illness that limit their exposure risk.” Click here to go to these guidelines, or copy this address into your browser: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/community/faith-based.html

The Wider Church

As the world has reeled from the effects of a deadly pandemic, we have seen the number of hungry people around the world rise, watched as food pantries and soup kitchens expanded to serve an ever-growing number of guests, and longed together for the time when we “will hunger no more, and thirst no more ... and God will wipe away every tear from [our] eyes”(Revelation 7:16-17). This very yearning is at the heart of who we are as church together. Yet our longing has never led to inertia or despair, despite the discouraging forecasts. We are an Easter people, ever journeying toward the cross but trusting in faith that God’s story does not end on that hill.
