Dear friends,

My friend, Judy Tenzer Benn, now has End Stage Kidney Disease and desperately needs a life-saving donor kidney, blood type O. She is working with Renewal, a remarkable non-profit organization. They have found an email campaign to be an effective technique, and it’s best to cast as wide a net as possible. Spreading the word is so valuable. So, I am sending each of you this message in the hope that you may know of someone who is able and willing to do the incredible good deed of donating a kidney to save a life. There are many that have donated a kidney, and their health is fine.

To learn how you can save a life or for more information about kidney donation, please call 718-431-9831 ext. 209 or email Renewal’s website is All inquiries to Renewal are strictly confidential and are without any obligation. They can also put you in touch with others who have donated a kidney and are willing to share their experience. All medical costs for evaluation and surgery are covered by the recipient’s insurance. Related costs such as travel expenses and lodging, may be covered by Renewal.

Please share this with people with whom you email. Please also post just the attached picture, as well as the video link at the bottom of this email, on Facebook. You never know whether or not there is someone who will respond to this urgent need.

We will be grateful beyond words,

Ashley Brousell

Hannukah Video Project

Attention Beth Miriam! I just came across a fabulous idea that I want to steal. If you make a video of you and or your family lighting the Hanukkah candles, I will make a Beth Miriam video for the Temple website and for the Facebook page and our YouTube channel. Make your video, one or two minutes, and I will edit and produce the video. Email your video to me at and I will take it from there.

The students of the Beth Miriam participated in packing food at the Jewish Family and Childrens’ Service in Asbury Park on the Sunday before Thanksgiving.  Yasher koach to all of them and to the parents and clergy of Beth Miriam who attended.
