Spring 2017 - Edition 1
Welcome to the Spring 2017 season. As always, a huge thank you to every one of you for volunteering to coach your son/daughters team this season.

Below is lots of information to help support you and hopefully make coaching as easy and enjoyable as possible.

If you ever have any questions, need a session covering, or would like support at a practice of game, please don't hesitate to get in touch with me. All contact information as below.
Rescheduled Games

Spring is always tough for rescheduling games with the high number of activities – our wet, snow-covered fields on week 1 did not help, nor did two Spring school vacation Saturdays right after that. Coaches, please bear with both our field and our referee assignors as they try and confirm field space and referees for any makeup games. Referee availability is often the obstacle here…we have a lot of youth and adult referees who are available work our weekend games but this number is dramatically reduced for a midweek games given work and school or other commitments – please do not assume that the Club will be able to source referees at your first or second choice makeup time. Susan Cottrell and Chris Mayer will advise you but please know that Sunday games, Saturday double headers or in some cases coach-reffed games may have to happen instead of midweek games.
Coaching Support Guides - PreK-2nd Grade
See below some coaching guides designed to help support PreK-2nd grade coaches. This breaks down the fundamentals for each of these key age groups, and helps provide guidance as to what technical skills the players at this age should be learning.

Memorial Day Tournaments
If anybody would like to enter their teams into a Memorial Day tournament - there are some good local tournaments for U8 + .

Grade 2/U8 teams all the way up to Grade 7-/U14 teams can enter and teams will be placed in a bracket that is right for them – all levels are encouraged to enter.
Foxboro is just a one day tournament (one day girls, other boys), Framingham is one day for the younger ages but then goes to 2 games on Saturday, 3rd game on the Sunday.
DS Soccer will, through our Treasurer, refund any DS team that enters up to $325/team.
Paid Work Opportunity - High School Age over Memorial Weekend

Our partners Global Premier Soccer have an opportunity for paid work for any high school age students over the Memorial Weekend Soccer Tournament. Please see the link below if your son/daughter is 15+ and would be interested in earning some extra money on the holiday weekend.
