Dear friends,

As February begins, the wintry weather has not kept up us from a a great program of activities at the Jewish Home Family.

We began this week on Sunday with a wonderful concert at the Jewish Home at Rockleigh featuring three generations of on family reforming a great concert for our residents and visitors. We had a grandmother, her daughter and two granddaughters who shared their talents in a wide variety of musical selections. Sunday was also Super Bowl and he had great parties with, of course, lots of great food! Interest in the game was high so there was lots of cheering and laughter throughout.

We have been celebrating Black History month at the Jewish Home at Rockleigh. This week we watched the film “Hidden Figures” with our residents and talked about the women whose true stories are shared in the film. If you haven’t seen it, it is a remarkable story about NASA, the early days of the space program and some remarkable women who were a key part of it.

On Wednesday, many of us were wearing pink in solidarity with Sharsheret’s “wear pink day, another way to heighten our awareness of breast cancer and breast cancer prevention. (Click for more photos)

This was a blog week for me and here’s the link: http://blogs.timesofisrael.com/echoes-2/.

As always, your feedback is welcome.
