From the Rector

Dear Friends,

In case you haven't noticed...at Canterbury we may be small, but we are mighty!  23 people showed up last Saturday morning to help with the "de-greening" of the church!  What a committed and energetic community.  HUGE thanks to everyone who came out to lend a hand!

On Sunday we blessed three peregrinos (pilgrims) who are embarking on a "Camino at Canterbury" in 2018:  Marcus is preparing for Baptism; Alex is preparing for Confirmation; Elizabeth (who was sick on Sunday, so wasn't present for the liturgy) is preparing for Reaffirmation of Baptismal Vows.  Dennis is serving as the companero (companion and guide) for all three of our peregrinos this year.  Please hold Marcus, Alex, Elizabeth, and Dennis in your prayers throughout the coming year. Then mark your calendars and plan to join them in celebrating on April 1st (Baptism at the Easter Vigil, 6AM) and October 14th (Bishop's Visit with Confirmations & Reaffirmation of Baptismal Vows at 10AM)

May the journey that Marcus, Alex, Elizabeth, and Dennis are undertaking through their "Camino at Canterbury" inspire you in your own ongoing spiritual journey of growth and discovery through 2018!

 Peace,
Sylvia+

Maxine Yazzie (pictured below with her older sister, Johanna, at Canterbury's Christmas Eve feast) is expecting a baby! She's going to be one busy lady this spring--caring for a newborn and finishing high school! As they say "it takes a village..." let's show Maxine that Canterbury is ready to be her village!    Click blue link (above) for baby gift registry for Maxine & Baby Moses! You may buy a gift directly from the registry, or make a donation to St. Thomas of Canterbury (mark "Baby Moses" in memo) which we will apply to one of the items in the registry. Please join us for Maxine's Baby Shower, and bring refreshments to share!
