On January 6, 2017, The Des Moines Register recently ran an article entitled, “Planned Parenthood plots strategy to avert defunding in Iowa,” to describe efforts of abortion providers in Iowa to scare the general public and law-makers into thinking that defunding Planned Parenthood in Iowa will result in a loss to women’s health care services.  This couldn’t be farther from the truth.  The reality is that there are many community health centers across the state that provide the same, and in some cases more, basic health care services than Planned Parenthood.  Women in Iowa deserve better.  It's time to put Planned Parenthood out of business and direct our attention to the women's healthcare centers here in Iowa that care for the entire person. .
