Upcoming Volunteer Opportunities

Dear --FNAME--,

One of the most important opportunities for active citizenship-- Election Day-- is just one week away. Polls in Pennsylvania will be open on Tuesday, November 7 from 7 am-8 pm.  We recommend the Committee of Seventy's General Election Guide for more information, including finding your polling place location. You can view the guide here
With the start of November also comes preparation for Thanksgiving. Please consider ways in which you can demonstrate your appreciation and compassion for others. Global Citizen volunteer options include the annual Thanksgiving event across from Philadelphia City Hall, organized by the African Daughters of Fine Lineage, who invite homeless men, women and children to have a hot meal and receive care packages you can donate, including clothing, toiletries and food.
Another volunteer option is the Veterans Group's Thanksgiving event on Wednesday, November 22 or on Thanksgiving Day.
Global Citizen is supporting a new initiative being spearheaded by the Free Library of Philadelphia’s Read By 4th program. We are recruiting volunteers to become Reading Captains, working in underserved communities to connect families with important childhood literacy information, opportunities, and services.
The 23rd annual Greater Philadelphia Martin Luther King Day of Service is fast-approaching. We hope you will participate by either organizing a project or registering to volunteer as an individual, family or group. We offer a series of King Day of Service Planning Workshops, in-person or by participating wherever you are, in a webinar (details below).
For additional volunteer opportunities this month and beyond, visit our Events Calendar. If your organization is interested in submitting a service project for our calendar, please click here. If you represent a volunteer group or organization interested in enlisting our support, please click here.
