Cathy and I are home from Tanzania. After settling in for a few weeks to get necessary administrative responsibilities sorted, we did some critical fundraising and partner followups as well as much needed work around the house. Mission accomplished--now we are back into the fray.

I appreciate your prayers as I minister in a sensitive nation. There is considerable unrest, but we are going forward with the mission despite State Department travel warnings. We are grateful for your prayers. Don't just pray for safety, pray for boldness and the favor of the Lord. For security reasons we cannot give

additional details on meetings, dates or locations. Please do not post this prayer request on any other web sites.

MISSION SOS AFRICA CAPITAL CITIES TOUR
Morogoro-Arusha & next stop Kilgoris, Kenya-the Maasai

For those who were too busy to view the close ups of SOS MOROGORO & SOS ARUSHA, here is a quick video review of BOTH festivals. See what God did through Johannes Amritzer, MISSION SOS & our partnership with GTC Africa. You are a a part!
We DO NOT take these victories for granted.

Thank you for being part of the SPIRITUAL WARFARE! Please continue to intercede and battle for souls and for fruit that remains. Off to Kenya in November.

This 4 minute video is a small THANK YOU for being a part
of the MIRACLE. Please pray for me as I minister here in ....

Please begin to intercede for our mission to Nigeria. When I get home from E-land, I will have a quick turn-around as Cathy and Barb Rucci join me to travel to Lagos and across Nigeria to minister. This whirlwind mission will carry us to 7 cities and a projected 32 meetings in 24 days.

Bernie first met and ministered to David Omih at Brooklyn Teen Challenge. He visited David in Nigeria at Bro Wilkerson's request in January 2013 and then with an incredible graduate team from Brooklyn Teen Challenge and BTCMI.

We are slated to be on the streets, in Pastors' conferences, in schools and churches. Teen Challenge is exploding with new centers planted every year in Nigeria and we are looking forward to a powerful time of ministry.

For example, Evans writes:

"In Abuja, you will be in Bimiham University on the 13th of November by God's grace, followed by 30 minutes on Joy FM, one of Nigeria most popular radio stations that will reach over 15 million Nigeria. You have an open air crusade on night one and minister to workers and leaders in a meeting the 2nd night. After that we we will visit basketball courts and football fields to minister."

We have TC leaders in 6 major cities coordinating outreach across Nigeria. We are honored to climax our visit to Nigeria with ministry at the Assemblies of God General Council in Enugu. Cathy and I will present a National Choir of Teen Challenge students and graduates and I will have an opportunity to minister the Word along with our vision for Teen Challenge in Nigeria. Join with us to pray that this will help to take Teen Challenge to a new level.

OPEN MY EYES
Welcome Home
Aaron

We welcome home Aaron Bugbee from a powerful time of ministry in Africa. A graduate and staff of Michigan Teen Challenge and refresher at New York State Teen Challenge, he has spent the last 5 months serving the needs of Teen Challenge in Africa.

From April 23 to September he traveled across five African nations, helping to launch new Centers, training leaders, encouraging existing Centers, evangelism and cutting edge training in Tanzania & Burundi.

For many new programs, issues as simple a scheduling or if staff should be taking students out to buy cigarettes were some of the issues he confronted in Africa.

He and Joseph Kajani, graduate & Africa TC Alumni Coordinator teamed up for training at the Manyoni and Mwanza Centers that are opening in 2019. In addition to this work, Aaron helped coordinate GTC teams in Tanzania for two major SOS festivals that reached nearly 200,000 people & trained 40 key TC leaders in supernatural evangelism with Johannes Amritzer and MISSIONS SOS.

In a very real way, I see men like Aaron coming under Africa Director, Jacobus Nomdoe, men who can spend a month living in an emerging center in Africa, sowing the DNA of TC and relationally building a culturally relevant expression of the TC discipleship model as a foundation for success with our ROAR Teams.

Those who have insight will shine brightly like the brightness of the expanse of heaven, and those who lead the many to righteousness, like the stars forever and ever.
Daniel 12:3

With incredible imagery, Daniel declares that those who have "insights" SHINE BRIGHTLY through the darkness of the night sky. In the same way, in our current society where perversion is honored as heroism, and sin is celebrated as freedom, the same promise is for us. In a culture that cannot even figure out which bathroom to use, WE DO SHINE. We shine "like the stars" but WE are not the star. There is one one star in this Universe, only one Hero in this story! Jesus.

Polaris, designated Ureas Minoris, commonly the North Star is the brightest star in the constellation of Ursa Minor.

We shine "like the stars" but we are not the star. There is one true North-only one Hero in our story.

God has raised us up, as ministers of light, armed with His Word and truth to shine as a light in a dark and confused culture. On a boat, they can take a fix on the North Star and plot their course with precision, but in a plane, at 500 mph at 30,000 feet, they used to depend on a compass. Magnets are not always reliable because of  magnetic declination, the variation between magnetic north (the direction the end of a compass needle points) and true north. In the same way, our fast paced, pressure-packed, distraction-filled culture has gone off course. Their only hope is for the church to point them to true North-- to the TRUTH.

The revised Hipparcos parallax gives a distance to Polaris of about 433 light-years. That means that even if the North star went supernovae, or even worse went dark, we would not see it for over 400 years. Since the world reminds us we shine like stars, it's important that you know the testimony you leave, the way you communicate Jesus, not only through your words now, but throughout your life, will have an enduring impact. People tell me, “I want to preach one day." You’re preaching already…You ARE…Everyone is.
Jesus says,"You are the light of the world"

Sharing the Good News can be messy. If you're not sure whether you're making the mess or making a difference realize this: "As long as you let His light shine, even if it takes 400 years --- someone will see the difference that it made."

On the other hand, we do know that one day the North Star will flame out. In that day, Jesus will be the light of all the univers The Bible promises that the those who lead the many to righteousness, will shine like the stars -but we shine forever and ever. The light that you bring has eternal value and will never burn out. Who can you lead to righteousness today?

15  Prove yourselves to be blameless and innocent, children of God above reproach in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you SHINE as lights in the world, holding fast the word of life. Phil 2:15-16

At a recent meeting a TC student prayed,
"Lord make us the light of the world."

As I stood up to preach, I shared, "That is not a prayer that God can answer. He can't "make us" the light of the world, we are already ARE the light of the world. The question is will we hide our light under a bushel or will we let it shine through the darkness, to the pain, to the insanity of this age. Let it shine.

Through your pain, let it SHINE.

Through the confusion, let it SHINE.

It is time to start doubting our doubts rather than doubting our faith. Through the doubt, let it SHINE

It is time to refuse the labels that the culture has tagged us with and take hold of the promise God has given us. LET IT SHINE.

What God has done for you is greater than anything that has happened to you. The very pain that is devastating will be healing in the place He is taking you and to those around you. Your perseverance will SHINE like a STAR. LET HIM SHINE THROUGH YOU!

4) MISSION SOS KILGORIS

As we are at work here, In Africa, the MISSION SOS and Lucas from TC Kenya are working hard on logistics.
We are praying for specific breakthroughs and against the powers of darkness.

We are focusing on the Maasai, a monotheistic people whose God is named Engai or Enkai. The Maasai are an indigenous ethnic group in Africa of semi-nomadic people settled in Kenya and northern Tanzania with a population estimated at 900,000. They are mostly known as warriors and for raising cattle. They believe all cattle in the world are owned by them, given by Engai.

Although the Kenyan and Tanzanian governments have established programs to encourage the Maasai to leave behind their traditional semi-nomadic lifestyle, the Maasai people have carried on their age-old customs. We are coming with GOOD NEWS.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Pray with us for the global advance of the gospel.
Pray for workers for the Harvest ...
We have Teen Challenge Centers in 125 countries and we currently have invitations to start Teen Challenge in many new nations. They are crying out for help and need staff.
They need the power of God to meet a pressing social need... but we know it has a SPIRITUAL ROOT.
We offer SPIRITUAL RESOURCES to meet PRACTICAL needs.
MATTHEW 9: 37 Then He said to His disciples,
“The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few.
38 Therefore beseech the Lord of the harvest to send
out workers into His harvest.”
