Second Saturday in Downtown McKinney : Celebrate art, music and maybe a little shopping, too, this Saturday in McKinney's historic district. Below are some of the events taking place for Second Saturday.

Orisons 1st Invitational Art Show
(Shown) This free Meet-the-artist reception of wine and small bites features up and coming artists Kim Carothers (ceramic sculpture), Maggie Golinski (alcohol inks), Silky Hart (painting), Kanyi Muraguri (photography), and Christine Scott (watercolor). Live music by Dori Grace. 110 E. Louisiana. 7-10 p.m.

fILTER(ed) Live 2nd Saturday Jazz: Live Jazz styles performed by local collegiate, professional and enthusiastic musicians in a comfortable and intimate setting. Filtered Craft Coffee & Jazz House, 218 E. Louisiana Ste. 400. 7-10 p.m. Discretional gratuity; assessed per program.

Friday Night Flicks: Top Gun (Friday)
This classic 80s Tom Cruise flick has enough romance to kick off your Valentine's Day weekend with plenty of action and drama to keep things interesting. Cash bar available courtesy of Square Burger. Tickets are $8 (general admission). 8-10 p.m. 

Four Funny Females (shown, Saturday)
These funny ladies are celebrating their 10th season at MPAC this year. Featured nationally and regionally in such publications as Reuters, New York Times, Texas Monthly, Dallas Morning News, Plano Profile, and Dallas Child, these ladies will bring plenty of laughs with their 99 percent clean comedy. Tickets are $20 (general admission). 8-9:30 p.m.

This one-week, limited time "Undershow" features many different undergarments from an earlier era just in time for Valentine's Day. 10 a.m.-3 p.m. on Saturday; 1 p.m. on Tuesday-Thursday. Proceeds go to Katie's Garden, Heard-Craig's wedding and event venue. 205 W. Hunt. 972-569-6909. $20 admission; each attendee also receives a free gift. Tickets available online.
At the Heard Natural Science
Museum & Wildlife Sanctuary,

(Open thru Feb. 21) Encounter the 46-foot T-Rex and eight new life-size animatronic dinosaurs along the Heard Museum nature trails. Included in admission to the museum. (If the temperature is 45 degree or colder, the dinos cannot be turned on to make sound and movements.) Check out the other exhibits at the museum, including Animals of the World.

2nd Saturday Bird Walk (Saturday)
These walks are intended to help beginning and intermediate birders with bird spotting and identification techniques. Reservations are not required; please arrive on time. 8-9 a.m. Included in museum admission.

Great events are coming up in McKinney in February including Valentine's Day specials at local restaurants.

The Vietnam Syndrome Exhibit : Learn about a turbulent era in American history. Collin County Historical Society Museum, 300 E. Virginia. 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Tues.-Sat. Exhibit closes Feb. 27.

Love Life Laugh-in Comedy Charity Event (Saturday)
The Sanctuary Music & Events Center offers a full night of comedy.  Buffet and non-alcoholic drink included with ticket; cash bar available. Individual Tickets (available online) are $50 per person, $95 couple, and reserved tables for four, $200. 6633 Virginia Pkwy. 7-10 p.m.

Den-Tex Dog Agility Show: Myers Park & Event Center Show Barn, 7117 CR 166.Dog events are free to attend as spectators. Please leave your own dogs at home. Concessions available at the snack bar.

Franconia Brewery Tour & Tastings: $5. 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m. at 495 McKinney Pkwy. 
Tupps Brewery Tour: 721 Anderson St. at the Cotton Mill. Brewery open for tours and tastings from 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Tastings and live music. $15 for three pours and live music. Smoken S. BBQ will serve from 12:30-4 p.m. Tours are at 12:30 p.m. and 4 p.m.
