Now Accepting Applications for Township Manager Search Committee Members

The Upper Merion Township Board of Supervisors is currently seeking applications for consideration of three (3) township residents to serve on the Township Manager Search Committee. Residents interested in serving on the search committee need to submit a letter of interest that includes details of your background and reason for desiring to serve on the committee. Committee members are expected to review resumes, attend all interviews, provide feedback and make recommendations. Applicants' letters of interest must be received on or before January 4, 2019. Upper Merion Area Middle School

The Upper Merion Area Middle School is hosting two separate free, eight-week English as a Second Language (ESL) courses open to all Upper Merion residents. Learn how to develop reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills in English. Questions? Contact ESL Teacher Katie Nagy.

Birding Adventure

Sunday, January 13 | 8:30 to 10:00AM

McKaig Nature Center

Join tour leader Jeff Dale on a bird watching adventure along the McKaig trails. You'll be able to look for year round inhabitant species, white-throated sparrows, dark-eyed juncos, and brown creepers that come south for the winter. Visit McKaig Nature Center's website for more information.

Upper Merion Rambler... Enjoy the Ride!

GVF will be hosting three focus groups to improve the Rambler. Come out and offer ideas and comments on this great township service as it approaches its 20th year of operation!

UMBA Spring 2019 Registration Information

Boys and girls ages 3-18 are invited to register for youth quickball, baseball, and softball.

  • Online registration is open January 5 at and
  • Early bird registration is open January 5-7. Walk up registration at Walker Park on January 5 at 10:00AM to 1:00PM.
  • Regular registration is open January 8-18. Walk up registration at Walker Park on January 8 at 6:30 to 8:30PM and January 12 at 10:00AM to 1:00PM.
  • Late registration begins January 19. Walk up registration at Walker Park on January 19 at 10:00AM to 1:00PM and January 26 at 10:00AM to 1:00PM. 

UMBA Winter 2019 Registration Information

Christmas Tree Collection

The collection season runs January 2 to January 31. Simply leave your tree on the curb and it will be collected by the township. All ornaments, lights, stands, and bags must be removed before disposal. Visit our Christmas Tree Collection page to learn more.

U.S. Small Business Administration Loans Available For Flood Victims

Did the August 10-15, 2018 storms cause damage to your home or business? Montgomery County homeowners, renters, and businesses are now eligible to apply for low-interest loans from the U.S. Small Business Administration. For more information, read the full press release.

Board of Community Assistance Grant Program

Non-profit organizations and Upper Merion students are encouraged to apply for one of many possible grants that are awarded through the BCA each year. The award applications will be accepted now through April 1, 2019. Learn more.

Compost Site

Please note the following schedule changes for the Compost Site at Heuser Park.

• The Compost Site will be closed on January 1. 
• The Compost Site will be closed on weekends until April 6, 2019.


Bad Bugs!

If you haven't heard of the Emerald Ash Borer or Spotted Lanternfly by now, you must be living under a rock. Both insects have made Upper Merion their homes, and homeowners and property owners need to be aware of what to do if you spot them on your property. Learn more:

AARP Driver Safety Course

Abrams Road Over Abrams Run

Construction of the bridge carrying Abrams Road over Abrams Run has begun. Motorists will continue to be directed to use Beidler Road until construction is complete.
