McKinney St. Patrick's Day Festival & Shamrock Run (Saturday)
The festivities will kick off with the Shamrock Run 5k at 9 a.m. The start and finish line will be in front of TUPPS Brewery located at the historic McKinney Cotton Mill. Each participant will receive a medal and event t-shirt! Wear your most spirited St. Patrick's attire and come ready for one fun and LUCKY run! After the race, stay for the St. Patrick's Day Festival, kicking off at 10 a.m. with Irish bands, a play zone, 50 boutiques and artisans, a photo booth, local restaurants and food trucks. This is a FREE family-friendly event!
 
 
 
 
 
Albert Cummings at the Sanctuary
(Friday)
The Guitar Sanctuary presents Albert Cummings in concert. Doors open at 7 p.m., music starts at 8 p.m. The Sanctuary Music & Events Center, 6633 Virginia. VIP Tables are $150 per table; downstairs seats, $25; and general admission (upstairs balcony), $10. 8-11:30 p.m. Bar and food will be available for purchase.

Bundle up and head to Towne Lake Park with your favorite fishing tackle to fish for more than 5,000 rainbow trout. During the event, attendees do not need fishing licenses. However, anyone staying after the event ends at noon will need one. Kids 16 and under are admitted free; adult admission is $3. Free hot dogs and prizes for smallest and largest fish are featured among other fun! (Hosted by the City of McKinney Parks & Recreation Dept.) 1405 Wilson Creek Pkwy.
 
 
 
 
 
Collin County Master Gardeners Lawn & Garden Show  (Saturday-Sunday)
This annual Garden Show is an extremely popular indoor event packed with exciting and informative hands-on activities and demos from local experts. Bring a wagon or cart to fill with yard and garden purchases from local vendors. Speakers will present timely information on outdoor living in North Texas. Presentations will be made by well-known speakers, Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Specialists, Sponsors, and Collin County Master Gardeners and will emphasize Earth-Kind® living in North Texas. (A list of speakers and more garden show info can be found on the event website.) Also tour the on-site research gardens. $2 donation per person to enter with proceeds benefitting Volunteer McKinney. St. Patrick's Day Organ Concert 
(Saturday)
Who needs green beer when you have music of the Emerald Isle - George Gershwin, John Williams...and your requests! Much-in-demand organist Dave Wickerham will perform a wide range of music on the Mighty Wurlitzer theater organ. 7:30 p.m. $12 advance/$14 at door; $5 Kids 12 & under advance/$7 at door. Seniors 65 & up are free with ticket.

Wildlife photographers Linda Barnes and David Mackenzie will exhibit a variety of photos taken from their many excursions into nature. Part of the exhibit will be of photos taken when both photographers traveled to the Great Bear Rainforest last June, including the bear photo shown here (by Mackenzie) and other grizzlies, eagles and the rare spirit bear. 6-9 p.m. both nights. At The Cove, 402 N.
