Women's Month | Reflection
What does it mean for you to be a bold woman of faith?

I aspire to be a bold woman of faith — that is, someone who is fiercely loving of both God and her neighbors; who lives out Jesus' command to show our faith by works and actions; and who, in the words of Madeleine L'Engle, draws people to Christ "by showing them a light that is so lovely that they want with all their hearts to know the source of it."

My mother, who I definitely consider to be a bold woman of faith, often references that quotation, which I think is a great one.

Bold Women of Faith Sunday is this Sunday, May 13! Join us for a celebratory worship service where we will lift up bold women of faith.

Shaping the ELCA Social Statement on Women and Justice  | We're having two conversations this month responding to a draft of a new Social Statement on Women and Justice for the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA), our national church body. Our responses will be shared with the ELCA, and contribute to shaping the final draft.

Thank you to those of you who joined our first conversation on Sunday, May 6! If you'd like to continue the conversation, or if you couldn't make it Sunday and would still like to be a part of the conversation, join us for Part 2 of our conversation at 12:10pm on Sunday, May 20 (Pentecost Sunday) in the fellowship hall downstairs.

Women's Month | Reading Ideas for Men

As men in a patriarchal society, I believe God is calling us to not only "celebrate" women for a day or even a month, but to actively learn, listen, and support gender equality in our daily actions. Please join me in thoughtfully considering and responding to the following readings this month. - Kevin

Care Kits for Navajo Lutheran Mission
While you are out today, why not pick up an extra tube of toothpaste, a toothbrush or comb to donate to the Lutheran Mission at Rock Point, AZ?

We are collecting hygiene products for the children at the Navajo Lutheran Mission. Not only are many families struggling financially, but also general shopping is a good hour away in New Mexico.

We're looking for regular size (not travel) toothbrushes, toothpaste, combs, emery boards, nail clippers, soap, and similar items.

Pentecost Celebration & Care Kit Assembly | 10:10am | Sunday, May 20

Join us downstairs between 9am & 11am worship for an intergenerational celebration of Pentecost Sunday where we'll assemble our care kits to send to the Navajo Lutheran Mission in Rock Point, AZ.

As we remember on Pentecost the Holy Spirit coming to Jesus' disciples, we celebrate that God empowers us to love and serve others, and this is a great opportunity to do just that!
