Recent changes in the way the government views the ADA within the context of website accessibility has led to a major shift in the responsibility for website owners. This presentation will provide you with the information you need to understand and deal with the following issues:

  • Understanding what web accessibility is and how it applies to you.
  • Learning how to make your website accessible to the greatest number of users possible.
  • Reducing or eliminating the risk of ADA-related lawsuits related to your website.
These answers and many more will be answered.

Presenter: Mike McKenna. Mike is a life-long resident of Middleboro and founder of shotgunflat, inc.-- a website design and development company based in downtown Middleboro. Mike has been working in internet technology since 1995, and has overseen the development of hundreds of sites. 4th Annual Credit for Life Fair on Friday June 8, 2018

The Credit for Life Fair is an interactive financial literacy program that allows students to role play as a 25 year old adult trying to manage a budget.  Each student is given a personalized profile that reflects the income and debt of an entry level professional in their career choice.  The objective is to visit each of the fair’s fourteen booths, which represent the major categories of living expenses and develop a working budget.  Students will have to make decisions such as buy a new or used car, allocate money for food, clothing and items such as a cell phone.  Throughout the process students are challenged to live within their means (not spend more than they make) and budget for life’s needs and wants.  The goal of the fair is to increase student awareness of personal money management and put their potential career and salary to the test!

Bristol-Plymouth Regional Technical School is located at 207 Hart Street in Taunton.  For more information about this event, please contact Kerrie Carrelas at 508-823-5151, ext.130 or via email at kcarrelas@bptech.org
