We are excited about what God is doing here in Nigeria and blessed to be with David Omih and the emerging TC Ministries in Nigeria. From Lagos to Ibadan, Jos, Kaduna, Abuja, and Otukpo, traveling across Nigeria, climaxing in Enugu with a TC Nigeria National choir and ministry in the Word at Peniel, the Nigeria General Council of the Assemblies of God.
This whirlwind mission will carry us to 7 cities and a projected 32 meetings in 24 days. Following this, Cathy will come home for Thanksgiving. I will continue to Kenya as I join Mission SOS and Kenya TC for ministry to the Maasai in Kilgoris. Thank you for your prayers.

I first met and ministered to David Omih at Brooklyn Teen Challenge as he was preparing for international ministry. I visited David in Nigeria at Bro Wilkerson's request in January 2013 as he pioneered the first Nigeria TC Center in Jos, (pictured right) and then Cathy and I with an incredible graduate team from Brooklyn Teen Challenge Ministry Institute. The ministry had been growing in Jos and now, David is working closely with Africa Regional Director,Dr. Jacobus Nomdoe, to raise up Centers across Nigeria. From the street to the church, from Pastors and Workers Training to University seminars, Radio TV and the Assemblies of God General Council, pray for GOD to use us to move in hearts and lives.

Watch over your heart with all diligence, For from it flow the springs of life. NIV translates it “Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it. Proverbs 4:23

“Therefore take up the full armor of God, so that you will be able to resist in the evil day and having done everything to stand firm.
Ephesians 6:13

According to Box Office Moho, the theatrical gross of horror films last year was over $712 million.  According to NRF, $9 billion will be spent Halloween this year. How could it be that billions are squandered to willingly allow theatrical ghouls and profiteers to terrorize American children, when children living in real terror desperately need our help? It is a real terror that so many believing Christians are will to allow themselves or their children to be exposed to this when the WORD is so clear!

Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it. Proverbs 4: 23
NIV

Now, I refuse to give the devil a holiday; he is not entitled to one.  Instead of moping around complaining and waiting for God to do something, it is time for us to rise up and MOVE for God. Put Ephesians 5:11 into practice,".have NO fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them."

I am not suggesting that we sit around and bury our heads in the sand. I have never run from Halloween, but instead of complaining that the culture has hijacked “our” holidays like Christmas and replaced Jesus … I think we should just hijack Halloween … For Jesus. Praise God for all of the folks who are using this as an opportunity for outreach with Fall Festivals, Trunk or Treat and Light the Night.

Let’s take Halloween from the devil and remind our culture that ONE did rise from the dead. He did not do it for mayhem but for love and He wasn’t a zombie --
HE was God’s only son!

I think we should Hijack Halloween- for Jesus

The phenomenon of fear for pleasure has been uniquely elevated in our American culture. Fright for profit had dark roots in the rise of the Gothic novel in the 18th and 19th century and from there has continued a cruel fascination with terror. In 2019, our society demands more and more, bloodier and bloodier carnage attempting to overwhelm the seared consciousness of a culture fed by violence.

Recently my heart broke as I listened to young believers, fresh from a Netflix love-fest with the horror comedy, “Zombieland.”They were engaged in a heated theological discussion, "Do zombies go to heaven. I will not trouble you with the supposed biblical basis for this discussion, but I weep for their hardened hearts. There was no understanding of the consequences of the spiritual filth that they had exposed their tender hearts to.
"Just innocent fun," one parent reassured me. One mother became increasingly upset, criticizing me for not accepting and understanding them. “Who are you to judge?” she reprimanded.

Accuse me of being a Puritan, out of touch with the real world if you like, but let me say this: "As a missionary, my real-world deals with real horror and terror on every day." In refugee camps, brothels, drug houses, and ghettos around the world, real terror DOES exist. We live to minister hope and the love of God into their terror wherever we go.. People wonder about the viciousness of our society, but does this casual exploitation of sexual violence, satanism, torture, and bizarre murders in movies contribute in a real way.

There is nothing innocent about the onslaught of sadism, slaughter, mutilation and killing unleashed in movie theaters, video games, and late-night television. Going to a horror film is Satan’s payday. I hear people express shock and horror at the culture of ancient Rome and their fascination with death and mayhem in the Coliseum.

In our culture in 2019, is the continuing thirst for more and more grotesque forms of violence any less an accusation on us – even in the church? Slasher films and horror movies exploit bloodshed, torture, violence, butchery, mutilation and mayhem to maximize profits. Violent video games in virtual reality and 3-D complete that unholy cartel are an inescapable prescription for the callous disregard for life in the tender hearts of adolescents.

Ephesians 6:12-13 reminds us “Our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places."
It concludes saying,  “Therefore take up the full armor of God, so that you will be able to resist in the evil day and having done everything, to stand firm.

I do not run in fear from the devil, but it is foolish and shortsighted to play games with him. In a society that demands "acceptance" and "tolerance," God reminds us we are "set apart" to be different. We are called as a unique reflection of His gift of Love. Let's not curse the darkness or frolic in the shadows. It's time to INVADE the darkness. May we stand for the inherent value of every life and SHINE His Light into a world that
desperately needs His life, His freedom and His love.

Over the years, Nigeria has been fertile ground for violence, From ethnic conflicts to religious violence, terrorist attacks have been a terrible burden on the church and the good people of Nigeria. From traditional weapons or warfare to more sophisticated weaponry, this year has witnessed more violence from the Fulani herdsman killings to
Boko Haram bombings to the Biafran quest for secession have taken a toll on the peaceful people of Nigeria. We are not praying for safety, but boldness. Pray that the peace of God will fall on the nation and that God will use Teen Challenge as an agent of reconciliation.....

"namely, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and He has committed to us the word of reconciliation.
2 Corinthians 5:19

2) MISSION SOS KILGORIS

As we are at work here, in Africa, the MISSION SOS and Lucas from TC Kenya are working hard on logistics for TC Leaders from Africa to Join the SOS team We are praying for specific breakthroughs and against principality of tradition, and the powers of darkness.

We are focusing on the Maasai, a monotheistic people whose God is named Engaging or Enkai. The Maasai are an indigenous ethnic group in Africa of semi-nomadic people settled in Kenya and northern Tanzania with a population estimated at 900,000. They are mostly known as warriors and for raising cattle. They believe all cattle in the world are owned by them, given by Engai.

Although the Kenyan and Tanzanian governments have established programs to encourage the Maasai to leave behind their traditional semi-nomadic lifestyle, the Maasai people have carried on their age-old customs. We are coming with GOOD NEWS.

Pray with us for the global advance of the gospel.
Pray for workers for the Harvest ...
We have Teen Challenge Centers in 125 countries and we currently have invitations to start Teen Challenge in many new nations. They are crying out for help and need staff.
They need the power of God to meet a pressing social need... but we know it has a SPIRITUAL ROOT. We offer SPIRITUAL RESOURCES to meet PRACTICAL needs.

MATTHEW 9: 37 Then He said to His disciples,
“The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few.
38 Therefore beseech the Lord of the harvest to send
out workers into His harvest.”
