Prayers for the Entertainment Industry
Greetings HPN members,
We hope you had a wonderful Valentine’s Day and we look forward to the Oscars, the start of March, and more rain. There is a lot to pray for on this Call Sheet so let’s start, with a heart full of anticipation that the Lord is moving in Hollywood!
Hollywood Walk of Faith

We praise God for the Hollywood Walk of Faith tour, led by HPN friend April Clemmer, that allows LA residents and tourists to walk through downtown Hollywood and learn about its Christian roots, history and impact. Read about this tour and we hope you can take it sometime yourself!
Letitia Wright's outspoken faith

Join us in thanking God for Letitia Wright and her heart for Jesus. She even took time to preach a little bit about the Lord while accepting her BAFTA award. Don’t miss reading about the strong faith of yet another believer in Hollywood.
The Academy Awards

Pray for the Oscars this Sunday. It’s been a wild ride for the Motion Picture Academy as they lost their host and almost lost some of their awards presentations in the past months. This Sunday will prove to be an emotional day for the nominees, and all the people behind the scenes, as they produce their 91st awards presentation. Read about the controversy and click here to view HPN's prayer guide for everyone involved in this night.
Pray for Drake and his audience

Pray for Drake, the rapper whose album Scorpion is currently the most streamed album on both Spotify and Apple Music. Drake is not only popular with teenagers and young adults, but with elementary and junior high children as well. He doesn’t know Jesus and his intense life journey comes out in all of his music, so let’s pray for God to lovingly touch his life, his career and his heart, and for his millions of listening fans.
Pray for staff of Activision Blizzard

Pray for the nearly 800 employees of Activision Blizzard, a major video game and media company, who were laid off last week. Let’s ask the Lord to supply other jobs, take away fear, anger, bitterness and sorrow, and to touch these people’s hearts with His unconditional love and peace as they deal with the news.
Pray for the changing entertainment industry

Please pray for our daily-changing industry and the impact of technology on our personal lives as you read this commentary from German producer Martin Moszkowicz, of Netflix’s Shadowhunters. The industry is changing with more buyer competition and the influx of streaming services internationally. It’s a reminder of how our industry guides the world through our ever-changing and growing media platforms and how we have to stay “flexible.” That’s a concept for Christians to embrace as well. And please pray for Moszkowicz and his influence on the lives of millions of viewers.
Pray for creators of new streaming content

Let’s remember to pray for the people creating the content of new TV shows as Apple now plans to launch their own streaming service this spring.
Thanks so much for joining us in prayer. During awards season, while we're hearing from many celebrities on the awards stage or in the news, remember to lift them up in prayer without judgment! Have a wonderful rest of your February.

With love,
Karen, Erin, Kim and Virginia

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight."
Proverbs 3:5-6
Where does the word "gaffer" originate?
Phil Cooke, HPN board member, interviewed Karen Covell on the spiritual aspects of how to survive and thrive in Hollywood.
"Entertainment is one of the most important things in people's lives. Without it they might go off the deep end. I feel that if you're able to entertain people you're doing a good thing."
Stan Lee
HPN's new 7-day devotional on SORROW is now available. The topic of Sorrow is complex, real, and not pleasant. And yet we found it surprisingly encouraging to see that the Lord knows when we feel sorrow, and He promises us that He is walking through it with us, He is compassionate, loving, and He even turns it into joy and dancing! Let’s all embrace sorrow this week, with trust and faith in the Lord.
