Dinosaurs Live! (Opens Saturday)
Encounter the 46-foot T-Rex and nine new life-size animatronic dinosaurs along the Heard Museum’s nature trails at the 12th annual Dinosaurs Live! Life-size Animatronic Dinosaurs exhibit. The exhibit always gives families and friends a fun, educational activity to enjoy together. Photo op and play area dinosaurs will be available as well. The dinosaur trail is jogging stroller friendly. Exhibit is included in museum general admission. Visit museum website for hours and rates. 1 Nature Drive.

Nature Story Time (Friday)
Story times are designed for young children with a different nature-themed book each week. 30-45 min. 10:30 a.m.

Native Texas Butterfly House & Garden (Now Open)
Walk among free-flying native butterflies and other pollinators in our Native Texas Butterfly House & Garden, which opens for its summer season on Saturday. This exhibit is open during regular operating hours.

Trail Guide Training (Saturday)
Would you like to become a Heard Trail Guide? Training will be held on Fridays and Saturdays from September 8-September 30. Participants must attend one session per week from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. All persons interested in participating must first complete a Heard volunteer application prior to the training sessions.

Seasons Sacred & Other Works on Paper (Opens Saturday)
Local artist Anne Royer creates visual metaphors of sacred narratives using liturgical colors and abstract forms. Royer will address the process and meaning in a brief artist talk at 7 a.m. during the Opening Reception. The show runs through September 30th.

 
 
 
 
Second Saturday Art Show

TUPPS Brewery hosts its monthly Second Saturday of every month for a local art show. Artists in the North Dallas area show off their work and sell pieces at the brewery. Come out and support local art! Free admission. Brewery tour at 12:30pm and live music from 1-4 p.m. Food trucks onsite. 11 a.m.-5 p.m.

Also at TUPPS on Saturday: 
Donut & Beer Pairing: The Donut Kitchen has partnered for another donut and beer pairing at TUPPS Brewery. Each pairing costs $15 which gets you 5 mini donuts, 4 beer tastings and 1 cold brew coffee tasting. Buy tickets online before they sell out.

Fair & Square Imports in downtown McKinney is hosting its 3rd Apparel Trunk Show. Try on an assortment of fall tops, leggings, camis, ourterwear, and socks, all Organic Cotton, and all handmade by artisans working with the fair trade organization Maggie's Organics. An Evening of Dance and Laughter: Dancers will perform six different kinds of Rajasthani folk dances. In between, we will have the leader of the show, Shri Sanjay Jhala, who is a famous comic poet. He along with mimicry artist Ashok Sarma will entertain the audience with no gap moments. 6:30-10:30 p.m. Admission is $27 for VIP seating, $17 for regular seating.
