WASHINGTON, DC December 22, 2016 - NCSEJ condemns the desecration of Rebbe Nachman’s grave in Uman, Ukraine. A pig’s head and red paint was splattered all over the site late on Tuesday December 20.

“This despicable act must not go unpunished and the perpetrator(s) must be prosecuted to fullest extent of Ukrainian law,” said NCSEJ Chairman Daniel Rubin and CEO Mark B. Levin.

It is important to note that Ukrainian national and local authorities were quick to respond to this heinous act. Both the Ukrainian Prime Minister and Prosecutor General issued strong statements denouncing the desecration.

NCSEJ will continue to monitor the situation and work with Ukrainian authorities to ensure those involved are brought to justice.
