                2.  To pray for individuals within our fellowship that God may be calling out to serve as a deacon/yokefellow this coming church calendar year.

  • Emergency Repair (The Problem)

As most of you know by now certain areas in our facility are in need of immediate repair.  These areas include the entire roof of our two-story education building along with certain areas on the roof that covers our worship center, office area, choir room, and the new education space.  We also have a mold problem in areas where there are leaks.

  • Securing A Loan (Our Response)

With hurricane season upon us, our leadership realizes we cannot delay this repair any longer.  This repair work must happen now to prevent further damage.  Therefore, our Finance Committee in cooperation with our Property and Grounds Committee have been working together to identify the need and secure a loan from our bank to cover the cost.  The loan has been approved by Bank of the South this past week in the amount of $200,000.  The term of the loan is a five-year balloon for fifteen years at 4.25%.

  • A Need for  Church Approval and Support

Before moving forward we must first secure both the approval and prayerful support of our church family.  Therefore, we will have a brief special-called business meeting next Sunday, on June 18.  This will take place immediately following the worship service.  Ballots will be included in the bulletin.  This meeting should take only 5-10 minutes at the most.  (There will be a vote with no discussion.)

  • A Call to Prayer and Fasting

As most of us know from past experience, when we go to the Lord in a season of prayer and fasting, great things happen.  God has always honored our prayers concerning financial needs.  What He did before He can do again!  Therefore, I will be calling the church to pray and fast for 40 days, beginning on June 19 and concluding on July 28.  Our focus will be seeking God’s guidance on what the Lord would have each of us to do financially to cover the cost of this project.  We will conclude this season of fasting and prayer with a Great Day of Giving on

August 6.  This will be our opportunity to bring a financial gift above our regular tithes and offerings to the church.

Thank you in advance for your faithfulness and support of God’s work here at Myrtle Grove.
