Dear Friends,

Many of us have a loved one with a birthday close to Christmas, or we do ourselves.  From experience, we know not to wrap their gifts with Christmas-themed paper.  We have learned how to make a big deal out of their special days, which happen to fall among so many other special days.  So, as we rest in the glow of Christmas and prepare to welcome the New Year and the season of Epiphany, let us make an extra effort to celebrate Rev. Laura Everett’s birthday!

Will you give $37 (or $370, or $3.70) to celebrate Laura’s 37th birthday?
Click here to donate now online for our one-day, online-only Birthday Fundraiser!

In the just over four years that Laura has served as our director, we’ve seen an increase in support from individuals, local congregations, and denominations.  This year the Massachusetts Council of Churches has begun training clergy to address the Commonwealth’s opioid addiction crisis.  We have shepherded one another into worship experiences to commemorate the Boston Marathon Bombing and the 100th Anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, and visited one another on ecumenical pilgrimages to the Coptic and Armenian Orthodox churches.  We’ve brought innovative thinkers and leaders to Boston, Worcester and beyond, engaging Christian leaders across the state as we prepare to partner in 2016 with Duke Divinity School’s Leadership Education program to train and equip Christian leaders to transform and sustain Christian institutions.

As the year ends, consider giving $37 to celebrate Laura’s 37th birthday.

Your year-end contribution is fully tax-deductible and goes to support the amplifying, reconciling ministry of the Massachusetts Council of Churches.  We hope you’ll join us in wishing Laura a happy 37th birthday!

In the peace of Christ,

Bishop Gayle
