Texas Heritage Festival (Saturday)
This festival will feature toe-tappin’, knee-slappin’ Western music, local artisans, historical demonstrations, and interactive children’s activities. Say “Howdy” to our resident wildlife ambassadors and explore the Native Texas Butterfly Garden. Children will love exploring the Heard’s Pioneer Village. $9 adults, $6 seniors (60+) and children (3-12). Museum members and McKinney residents free. 10 a.m.-3 p.m.

 
Summer Nature Story Time (Friday)
Story times designed primarily for preschoolers are offered each Friday in June and July at 10:30 a.m. These programs will introduce a different nature-themed book each week. About 30-45 minutes depending on the book covered. Heard Natural Science Museum, 1 Nature Place. Included in general admission; free for Heard Museum members.​

Zip Line Day (Saturday)
Soar through the treetops of the Heard Wildlife Sanctuary as you travel down the Ropes Course's zip line. Purchase one ticket for each time you would like to go down the zip line. $12 per person. Preregistration required. For ages 10+. Registration available online.
 
 
 
 
North Texas Butterfly House & Garden (Ongoing) 
Walk among free-flying native butterflies and other pollinators in our Native Texas Butterfly House & Garden. The butterfly house includes native species, which vary by season and which are available from suppliers. This exhibit is open during normal museum hours and is included in general admission. 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
 
 
 
 
 
Link Bracelet-Metal Clay (Saturday)
Love playing with metal clay? This link bracelet is fun to create and a beautiful piece to wear. Class fee of $200 includes supplies. (Metal clay experience required to take this class.) 10 a.m.-5 p.m. at Art on the Veranda, 105 W. Louisiana. Call 469-406-7704 to reserve your spot in the class.
