District Nominations Are Open

In preparation for the annual Mid-Atlantic District Assembly (April 8-9, 2018) at Turf Valley Resort in Ellicott City, MD use the following link to make nominations for the 2018-2019 church year. The deadline for all nomination is Thursday, January 11, 2018. All nominees must be a member of the Church of the Nazarene on the Mid-Atlantic District. Nomination this year are being accepted for the District Advisory Board (Ordained Ministers & Layperson); Board of Ministry (Ordained Ministers); and Trustee to Eastern Nazarene College (Ordained Minister & Layperson). Youth In Mission continues to engage college students in the mission of God in creative and life-changing ways. And we want to stay connected with our alumni! William R. Hess, retired elder on the Mid-Atlantic District passed away on December 28, 2017.

He is survived by his present wife Kathleen Hess. Bill served for 17 years in the Frederick, Maryland Church of the Nazarene as a layman before answering the call of God to ministry in the Church. He graduated from the Minister's Home Course of Study after graduating from Shippensburg University with a Bachelor's and a Master's degree in Education. He worked as a School administrator for the Frederick County School System prior to entering bi-vocational ministry. He served the Berkley Springs, WV Church of the Nazarene from 1979-1986. He was ordained in the 1985 Washington District Assembly by Dr. John A. Knight. He served the Evangelical Christian Church in Hanover, PA from 1986-1989. He then served the Carlisle, PA Church of the Nazarene from 1989 until his retirement in January 2000.  Bill and his first wife, Arlene have three children.
