Please remember that the temple has no control over the functionality of Zoom or YouTube or Comcast and the dependability of the connections.  There may be technological breakdowns in the system on the other side of the world that may impact the broadcast.  We will endeavour to do the very best we can but apologize in advance if there is a failure

Yiskor and Neilah Outdoors
We are very excited that we can now offer our Yiskor and Neilah services outdoors on the patio with proper social distancing and masks.  Yiskor will begin at      and Neilah will begin at 4:30 and 5:30 respectively.  If the weather is forecasted to be bad, we will advertise the cancellation of outdoor service (and only have LiveStreamed services) the day before.

Second Day Rosh Hashanna
Second Day Rosh Hashanna services will be outside on the patio - weather permitting - at 10 am on September 20.  Everyone is welcome. (As of September 16, the weather is supposed to be spectacular)

(If the weather becomes inclement, we will notify everyone on FB and on the temple website and go back to the YouTube livestream only)

What to Expect from LiveStream
This is the first year of LiveStreaming anything.  We have put together a beautiful service that will alternate between camera shots of the bima and machzor text on the screen.  If you wish to have a hard copy of the machzor, please call the office and make an appointment and George will be happy to provide you with however many you need.

Follow Along on the Days of Awe
The High Holiday machzor is in the form of a flipbook if you choose to follow the service that way.  You can download the ebook (quite inexpensive) or use the free online flip-book.  You can also come to the temple before each holiday and borrow a hard copy of the prayerbooks.  Go to this link for full details:  https://www.ccarnet.org/publications/hhd/

Evening Services
Please remember that the Erev Rosh Hashanna and Erev Yom Kippur services are at 7:30 and NOT 8:00.  This is an important change.

Food Drive
Please check the temple homepage at bethmiriam.org for this year's unique Yom Kippur Tzedakah food drive.

Yiskor Book
The Yiskor Book will be 100% online this year.  Because of ease to modify it online, if you have any changes, additions or modifications to make to it, please let Rabbi Stanway know up to September 25.  Here is the link to the Yiskor book which can also be accessed directly from the temple home page at www.bethmiriam.org

Livestream Online
When you get this E-lijah, the livestream will be on and accessible for you to see if you can find it on YouTube or, if you wish, watch it directly on the temple homepage at www.bethmiriam.org.  For full instructions see further on in this E-lijah.

Visiting the Livestream for the High Holidays?
Because of the disruptions due to COVID-19 and the usual High Holiday practices, the Religious Practices Committee and the Board have opened all services to everyone online since space is not an issue.   But we would so much appreciate a donation if you are so inclined as an act of tzedakah.  Use this link or go to the temple website at www.bethmiriam.org and use the Donate dropdown at the top of the page.

Rabbi Stanway Always Accessible
Even though the regular activities of the temple are still in flux, Rabbi Stanway is still 100% available.  You can find him at the temple (be sure to call, first), always available on cell for texting or phone calls at 732-768-7773 and responds to email usually within a couple of hours under normal circumstances.  Contact him anytime.
