Artwalk @ Liberty Station takes place in San Diego's flagship arts and culture district, The Arts District at Liberty Station, where galleries, working artist studios and fabulous dining options abound.

The festival surrounds a beautiful rose garden, and is a more intimate setting than the April festival in Little Italy.  Attracting San Diego art lovers as well as visitors to our city, this is an event not to be missed. Space is still available for fine artists. Apply soon, as we expect to sell out in the near future.

ArtReach San Diego

Peacock Life Knockarounds. You will shine like the sun.

Order your Peacock Life Knockarounds, designed by a Ramona Elementary student, Lilli Hayes.  Knockaround and ArtReach have teamed up for year four to take design into schools. Over 200 students designed a pair of sunglasses. Knockaround chose Lilli's peacock-themed pair to make and sell. Proceeds benefit ArtReach, which brings art lessons into K-6 schools County-wide, that have little or no resources for art education.

Cannon Art Gallery

The City of Carlsbad’s Cultural Arts Office presents Infinite Light: A Photographic Meditation on Tibet by Marissa Roth at the William D. Cannon Art Gallery through May 21, 2017. Photographer Marissa Roth’s exhibition Infinite Light is a visual poem of her impressions of Tibet through 72 photographs, reflecting the colors of Tibetan prayer flags. The photographs were shot with some of the last available Kodachrome film, producing deep saturated color. The exhibition is being released in conjunction with a limited edition book of the same title. Three prominent Tibetans contributed to the book, including the Foreword written by His Holiness The Dalai Lama.

Cannon Art Gallery is a focal point for arts and culture in North County and is located at the Carlsbad City Library at 1775 Dove Lane. The gallery offers a broad range of exhibitions, educational and family programs, gallery tours, lectures and publications.

The San Diego Visual Arts Network promotes John Dillemuth: Contraptions And Go-mo(s) at the Oceanside Museum Of Art (704 Pier View Way, Oceanside 92054) through July 23rd, 2017. Curated by Vallo Riberto, assemblages, contraptions, vehicles, and paintings combine to create an installation that references the real and imaginary. Play is the thread that ties the work together, mixing the fantastic with the ordinary, the crude with the sophisticated, and the visionary with the comical. Contemporary Arts Committee

Contemporary Arts Committee supports the San Diego Museum of Art through local artist presentations and tours. Monthly guest speakers include curators and gallery directors. Meetings are social, as well as educational, and are held at private residences, artist studios, galleries, and the Museum. Mingei International Museum

The Mingei International Museum presents American and European Folk Art through June 18th. This exhibition is dedicated to three centuries of American and European folk art from the Museum’s permanent collection, with many artworks on view for the very first time. Featured items include quilts, whirligigs and weather vanes, as well baskets and ceramic vessels. Figurative sculptural objects will also be on view, including works by Felipe Archuleta, Gerard Cambon and Beatrice Wood, in addition to anniversary tin gifts, a carnival knockdown figure, a carved and painted wood barber pole and needlepoint samplers.

Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego, Downtown

Visual and performing arts converge at The Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego, Downtown’s after-hours offering: Downtown at Sundown. The La Jolla Athenaeum 

The Athenaeum Music & Arts Library is pleased to host walking tours of the Murals of La Jolla. Tours start at the Athenaeum the last Wednesday of every month, this May 31st.

Join fellow art enthusiasts and learn more about the artists and their artworks created specifically for Murals of La Jolla during a guided walking tour led by project curator Lynda Forsha. During the tour you will learn more about each artist and the type of work they make beyond the Murals of La Jolla Project. Each mural has its own story and by the end of the tour you will know more about the inspiration and concept behind each image.

Museum of Photographic Arts

The Museum of Photographic Arts in Balboa Park presents Coming of Age, a film series that focuses on promoting and reinforcing positive images on the subject of aging. Covering topics relating to continued growth, romance/sex, grief, identity and intergenerational issues; the film series strives to provide an inclusive representation of aging and advocate a value system that honors both the individual and the process of aging.

Coming of Age Film Series on aging will explore some of these older gender themes, including how women of a certain age are portrayed in cinema and how it relates to the other stereotype of “ageism.” The five-film series will run through May 11, 2017. Admission is FREE for all screenings with RSVP.

This exhibition features a cross-section of the most noteworthy artwork from OMA’s talented artist members.

An integral part of OMA’s mission is supporting local and regional artists, and this juried exhibition provides the museum an opportunity to showcase the exceptional talent of artists who have in turn supported the museum as part of this affiliate membership group. The jurors of this show recognize the strength and complexity of this diverse group of artists, resulting in an inspiring Spring exhibition.

Lamb's Players Theatre

San Diego Repertory Theatre 

The San Diego Repertory Theatre presents The Cherry Orchard, Monday May 22nd, on the Lyceum Stage. Amigos del Rep brings the classic version of Anton Chekhov’s masterpiece about a family on the edge of ruin—and a country on the brink of revolution.

The story follows Lyubov Ranevskaya and her family’s return to their fabled orchard to forestall its foreclosure. The Cherry Orchard captures a people, and a world, in transition, and presents us with a picture of humanity in all its glorious folly. First produced in Moscow in 1904, The Cherry Orchard  still stands as one of the great plays of the modern era. Amigos stages this classic which by turns tragic, funny and poignant brings this towering tale to life.
