Lenten Adult Sunday School Experience:

Ask: Faith Questions in a Skeptical Age

Sunday at 10 am in Room 301

We hope you'll join us for this thoughtful study addressing the hard questions that all of us face when considering faith, religion, and the church. This week's question - Can I trust the Old Testament?
You do not need the book to join in the conversation, but copies of the book are still available. Drop in and join Pastor Clark and friends this Sunday!
Palm Sunday Bake Sale Returns!  The Palm Sunday Bake Sale raises funds for the United Methodist Women’s mission fund.  Want to help support programs for women and children?  Consider donating a baked good!  Drop off on Saturday, March 24 between noon and 3 pm. The bake sale will take place before and after services on Sunday, March 25.
Join us for this quiet and reflective time of worship.  The word "tenebrae" comes from the Latin meaning "darkness." This ancient Good Friday service makes use of gradually diminishing light through the extinguishing of candles to symbolize the events of that week from the triumphant Palm Sunday entry through Jesus' burial. This increasing darkness symbolizes the approaching darkness of Jesus' death and of hopelessness in the world without God. The service concludes in darkness and with the book being slammed shut, symbolizing the closing of Jesus' tomb. We then leave in silence to ponder the impact of Christ's death and await the coming Resurrection on Easter morning.  It's a powerful experience. Come share it.
Prayer Labyrinth for Lent
The Prayer Labyrinth is open today in The Chapel and will remain open throughout the season of Lent for self-guided prayer and meditation. Stop in anytime!

Need some help getting started?  Pick up a guide in the Parlor, or check out this Methodist Church's suggestions on their website.

Let's Talk About it: Social Media
Our March Let’s Talk About It topic will be "safe social media" and we look forward to discussing cyber-bullying, protecting student info online, and safe peer interactions. While many have a one-sided discussion of the negatives of social media use with students, we seek to look at both sides of this networking tool. Please join us as we engage in this important conversation!  We would love to know how many people to expect so please email Dana with your RSVP and any questions you may have before March 23.
Youth Coffee Talk: Saturday, March 31
Gregory of Tours's modern reinterpretation of the relationship between the figuralization of the unspoken and the reading of the proper-name effect is somewhat naive. The figuralization of the unspoken reinterprets the reading of the proper-name effect.
Canned Fruit for Brookside
Imagine if everyone brought one can of fruit every Sunday until our next delivery to Brookside Food Pantry on April 20th.  We would have at least 1,000 cans of fruits to help feed hungry families in Cleveland.  Together we can make a big difference!
Let’s Dare to Dream! Over the next few weeks, we invite you to share your dreams for our church— no matter how big or small. A new mission? A different type of worship service? A new use for space? An idea to raise money for missions? Ways to reach out into our community and the world?  Something else?  If you had a magic button to press, what would YOU dream up? Share your answers HERE! or write them down and drop them in the box in the Parlor on Sunday.
