McKinney Summer Musicals presents this year's musical production about the Biblical saga of Joseph and his coat of many colors. Lyrics by Tim Rice and music by Andrew Lloyd Webber, this musicial has been a favorite among theater audiences since it debuted on stage in 1968.

Summer Nature Story Time (Friday)
Story times designed primarily for preschoolers are held Fridays in June and July, 10:30 a.m. Included with admission; free for museum members.​

Design-a-Dino Coloring Contest (Shown, now through Aug. 5) The Heard prepares for the Dinosaurs Live! exhibit by inviting children ages 12 and under to submit their own original coloring designs for a chance to have their artwork replicated through a custom paint job on one of this year’s exhibit dinosaurs—the Stegosaurus. Free. 

North Texas Butterfly House & Garden (Ongoing) 
Walk among free-flying native butterflies and other pollinators in our Native Texas Butterfly House & Garden. This exhibit is open during normal museum hours and is included in general admission. 9 a.m.-5 p.m.

RACES in McKINNEY
The following are races in McKinney on Saturday.

Cooper Sprint Triathlon: 
This race includes a 350 meter pool swim, 12 mile bike and 5K run in this USAT sanctioned race and time trial serpentine swim course. Starts at 7 a.m. All participants must be a current annual member of USAT or purchase a one-day permit for $15 or an annual membership for $50. Details and registration information available on their website. At Cooper Fitness Center at Craig Ranch, 7910 Collin McKinney Pkwy. 

Stonebridge Ranch 5K,10K and 1KA portion of the proceeds will go to the Luekemia and Lymphoma Society. At Stonebridge Ranch Beach and Tennis Club, 6201 Virginia Parkway. Races start at 8:30 a.m. Register online. Race day packet pick-up starts at 7 a.m
