This past Saturday hundreds of individuals determined to take action and move the needle on climate change came together at the Bedford 2020 Climate Action Summit. The day was inspiring and productive.

Highlights include:
  • Over 700 climate activists from Long Island, Hudson Valley, Westchester, and Connecticut.
  • Over 100 municipal leaders from throughout the region primed to bring high impact solutions to their communities.
  • Leaders and activists representing over 60 regional and national environmental organizations.
  • Over 50 exhibitors armed with engaging displays; opportunities to take action on the spot and information that underscored the solutions of the day.
  • Over 40 speakers, experts and changemakers shared shovel-ready actions, programs and tools to bring to our communities now.
  • Issues and solutions tackled ranged from bringing 100% renewable energy to our region; creating an electric vehicle infrastructure in every community; making pollinator friendly solar arrays standard practice; carbon tax; food choice as a means to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and so much more.
