The Carousel returns this year in Historic Downtown McKinney ![]() Mark Your Calendars for Christmas in McKinney Every year over Thanksgiving weekend, the McKinney community officially welcomes the Christmas holiday season. This year, like everything else in 2020, will of course be a little different. Every public activity is planned with recommended distancing guidelines taken into account in order to keep families safe while making festive memories. Read this week's blog for details about all of the holiday fun that awaits your family in McKinney!
CHRISTMAS IN THE VILLAGE CHESTNUT SQUARE HERITAGE VILLAGE | 315 S. Chestnut Enjoy an old-fashioned festival featuring holiday activities for the whole family! Houses and trees on porches will be decked out with lights, and food and drink vendors will be set up along Chestnut Street including Fresh Mex, Texas Forest Farm, and Penny Curry Jolly Acres. At the village, you'll find kid-friendly activities including Santa, live music, Letters to Santa, and kid's crafts in the schoolhouse. Make sure to visit the craft marketplace in the pavilion to find special, locally-made gifts. Free admission for museum members. Many activities will be outdoors to promote health and safety.

DINOSAURS LIVE! Encounter the 46-foot T-Rex and nine new life-size animatronic dinosaurs along the nature trails at the 15th Annual Dinosaurs Live! The exhibit always gives families and friends a fun, educational activity to enjoy together. See the dinosaurs move and hear them roar! Photo op and play area dinosaurs will be available as well. This year, the exhibit also features an outdoor fossil dig. The dinosaur trail is jogging stroller-friendly; it is not suitable for strollers with small wheels or wheelchairs.
