Thank you for taking the pledge to give up meat and fish one day a week! Your commitment to switch out meat has enormous consequences. Just substituting one hamburger with a plant based meal saves enough water to shower for an hour or the energy used to charge your cell phone for four and a half years.  Think of what we can accomplish as a community if the 300+ households participating in our campaign fulfill this 12-week pledge!

Please take this survey designed for this campaign by the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health Center for a Livable Future. Your participation will be critical for their research on what motivates people to reduce meat consumption and how we can use Bedford 2020’s campaign as a model for other communities.

Each week you will receive a short (two question) follow up from Bedford 2020 to check in on your participation. Please help us count carbon reduced by doing this quick check-in with us each week.

If you signed up to receive our weekly Bedford 2020 Meatless Monday newsletters, you will receive recipe ideas from community members, highlights from our restaurant partners, and tips and resources for both kids and adults. We will also let you know about special events that will be taking place in our community during the 12-week campaign.
To kick off the campaign, Mark Bittman, acclaimed food journalist, provided this plant-based recipe for Paella with Tomatoes and Eggs to all participants. Enjoy!

Also, all participants who complete the 12-week campaign will automatically be entered into a drawing to win a complimentary dinner for two at Crabtree’s Kittle House.

Thank you for joining our effort to reduce our carbon “foodprint.” Together, we can make a difference!
