Tomorrow is Veteran's Day, and everyone here at WFA would like to take a moment to thank each and every one of our members who are currently serving or have served in the Armed Forces. We know that it is through your sacrifice that we are able to put our attention on our local communities and celebrate them every year. Thank you.
WFA's office will be closed
Friday, November 11
in observance of Veterans Day
But that doesn't mean we won't be active! Our resident veteran, Chris Pickering, will be attending the public dedication of the Orange County Fair & Event Center's new Heroes Hall. The dedication will begin at 1:00pm (1300 hours) on Friday, November 11.
Heroes Hall will serve as a year-round museum honoring those who have served. The museum is housed in a renovated 1942 cadet barracks, hearkening back to the days when the Santa Ana Army Air Base owned the land now home to the OC Fair & Event Center. The OC Fair & Event Center's Board of Directors voted to contribute $2 million in initial fundraising for the project in 2014.
Tell Us Your Story!

Fairgrounds have played a tremendous role in our nation's military history, either directly or through service as a community gathering place. In preparation for an exciting new project, WFA is currently gathering information on monuments, memorials, movements, and meetings on fairgrounds that recognize or support veterans. So whether your fairgrounds hosts a 'Stand Down' event, has a statue, or serves as the local VFW meeting spot, we want to know!
