National Day of Prayer

Following a busy time after Puerto Rico, directing the Unleash the Hope International Ensemble and National day of Prayer, I sit back as the jet engines of our Boeing pound out their relentless roar, as we cross the Pacific Ocean on the way to Japan with such a sense of excitement and anticipation.

We will join leaders from 13 nations across the Asia Pacific Region from N. Asia to Australia – Cambodia to Laos and Singapore & sensitive nations we cannot mention online.

God is doing a powerful work throughout the Pacific Rim. The Asia-Pacific Global Teen Challenge Regional director Jim Lowans has convened this summit. It will be a powerful time of teaching, fellowship, prayer, commissioning and empowering. Hosted in Yokohama by Tom Kisaki and Temote Yamashira of Japan Teem Challenge, president/CEO of Global Teen Challenge Dr. Jerry Nance and the GTC team will communicate the cutting edge UNLEASH THE HOPE strategy which God has given.

Over 130 churches, ministries and fellowships gathered at the Hampton Coliseum for the National Day of prayer on the Peninsula prayer time on May 5. Powerful music, intense prayer, and heart searching repentance marked this years expression of National Day of Prayer

I love working with the music team for National Day of Prayer on the Peninsula- such talent, such skills, such a heart for the King -thank you to every musician singer, dancer and worshiper for making this such a powerful night.

Give us this day our daily bread." -- Matthew 6:11

In our repetition and familiarity with the Lord's Prayer, it is possible to miss some of the amazing truths hidden in these powerful instructions. As we "recite" ly the Lord’s prayer it’s easy to just throw this line away because it seems like a small thing to ask.

So many of us have been toaught o create a prayer list must never forget that our prayer list, is not God's "to do list ." as we just hand our demands off to the Almighty with the expectation, "Bless me Lord, my will be done

“Give us this day our daily bread” -- it’s only bread, not only that but only bread for a day. Even in its simplicity, Jesus instruction on prayer is full of insight and power. It’s important that we see Jesus did not teach us to pray for bread enough for a week, or a month, or a year.

For one thing, Jesus wanted to teach the lesson of continual dependence. He taught us to come each morning requesting simply for each day's needs. This is about more than food and it's about more than satisfying our physical hunger. It is that we might be reminded that we must never feel we can get along without our Father.

Another lesson He wanted to teach us was to live in "day tight" compartments. We are not to be anxious even about the supply of tomorrow's needs. When tomorrow comes, it will be right for us to take up its care.

This great lesson is revealed in In the wilderness as Israel wandered, having refused God's command. You can see God's promise inthe way manna was given -- just a day's portion at a time.

“As we’re flying across the Pacific on "Friday the 13th” Someone asked me, "Do you think this is wise? Do you think it’s safe to tackle a long flight like that on Friday the 13th?

The answer is simple. Every day is a safe day to "GO" when you are doing God’s work, seeking God’s will. My call to “go is not ruled by superstition or the day, It is governed by the one that holds the times in his hands. That does not mean that bad things might not happen but even in all of them we are overwhelmingly more than conquerors.

The other thing that I see is the word us. We cannot  overlook the fact that Jesus used the word  "us." It is plural. God is calling us to see past our own selfish desires and toreach beyond individual needs. God has called us in community. It’s not about being a Lone Ranger so that God can satisfy my every desire for a pain-free life but to remember that with His supply comes the call to share it. Freely we have received, freely we must give.

May this ever be my prayer, for daily bread for a hungry neighbor as much as me. While we enjoy our own plenty, we must share with those who have need. May God use us as we reach out to the Asia-Pacific region over the next 10 days -- and then on to Africa the first week in June-Slovakia in July!

Sniffing glue, as a means to curb hunger and numb the pain of rejection and brokenness, continues to steal a generation of Asian young people. On the street we see young men who wander the alleyways aimlessly with no hope. More than orphans of their family, they are orphans of a society who ignores them. Please pray with us that they will find their way to TC to meet Jesus,

We saw Ping, (forefront) and many girls like her on the street. They work the "red light area" Turning tricks for strangers, they "auction" their purity to the highest bidder. They live by their wits in hopes of making it through another aimless night. As Ping came out of the darkness, she asked me , could God love me.?

Asia Pacific Conference – Please pray for a powerful move of God, an empowering experience for courageous leaders that will carry the message back to the nations of the Pacific Rim, and safe travel for folks that are arriving from over a dozen nations

2) . Kampala Uganda

Home for a short time after Japan, and then we will head back to Africa to join missions teams from Kenya, Uganda, Canada and the United States for a powerful outreach with MISSION SOS and evangelist Johannes Amritzer. We are believing God for tens of thousands of people as we minister to the "most hopeless" on the Kozo grounds in Kampala, Uganda.
Please pray for safety for the team boldness for the ministry of the word and safe travel is over 300 missionaries come from around the world.

3) . Iraq

Please pray for the many injured during the recent bombings and the refugees as a consequence of the continuing conflict in the Middle East.

Pray that God will use teen challenge to continue to impact these lives. For men like Garo from Lebanon teen challenge who is going into the refugee camps in Jordan with the message of hope,

4) . Latin America

As the virus continues to take center stage on the world needs, pray for our teen challenge students and protection for Global Teen Challenge and other missionaries that are traveling there to minister over these upcoming months. Please pray for Duane Henders, the Global Teen Challenge Latin American Director, and Norbert Schenhals as they continue their powerful work there.

Pray with us for the global advance of the gospel. Pray for workers for the Harvest ...Teen Challenge Centers in 95 countries need staff and we currently have invitations to start Teen Challenge in over 32 nations. They are crying out for help. They need the power of God to meet a pressing social need... but we know it has a SPIRITUAL ROOT.
MATTHEW 9: 37 Then He said to His disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. 38 Therefore beseech the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into His harvest.”
