FOR HEALTHY, SUSTAINABLE FOOD, YOU NEEDN'T GO MUCH
FURTHER THAN YOUR COMMUNITY OR YOUR OWN BACKYARD

Dear --FNAME--,
VegOut is back! Brought to you by Bedford 2020, between April and October, the VegOut newsletter is your source for sustainable food choices in Bedford and beyond with monthly tips for buying, eating, growing and sharing local and sustainable food.

If there is something you'd like to see in our May newsletter or you have growing, buying, cooking and sharing tips, let us know!

Healthy Yards Earth Day Festival

Whether you already have a green thumb or are truly new to natural yard and garden care, there will be something for everyone at the Healthy Yards Earth Day Festival on Sunday, April 22 from 12-4 at the Bedford Hills Train Station. Come by for some fun, food, music, and healthy yard and garden tips!

Summer CSAs: Good for Everyone

When community members participate in a farm CSA, they pay in advance to regularly receive fresh produce from the farm during the upcoming season. This helps farmers better forecast and plant for the season ahead. Check out Hilltop Hanover's CSA and others through the Hudson Valley CSA Network.

Vegetarian Potluck and Recipes

During Bedford 2020's Meatless Monday campaign to reduce our collective greenhouse gas "foodprint," we collected quite a few recipes we'd like to share with you.
Also, we want to invite you to come celebrate our success at a community Meatless Potluck at Bedford Hills Community House on May 7th at 6:30pm.

Growing Food for our Neighbors

Volunteer at Sugar Hill Farm to help grow food for Feeding Westchester to distribute throughout the county to people who otherwise may not have good food and fresh produce to eat. Westchester Land Trust offers two days a month when volunteers of all ages work together. The next opportunity is April 24th.
