Preview of April 28th Event:
“Power Up for a Clean Energy New York”

The New York State energy system is undergoing enormous transformation as the State moves forward to create a clean energy economy and to meet Governor Cuomo’s goal for 50% renewable energy by 2030.  That transformation is happening at the community and grassroots level. Two recent developments, the launch of Community Choice Aggregation in Westchester County with 14 municipalities selecting 100% renewable energy as their default energy supply and the announcement by Audrey Zibelman, Public Service Commissioner, that CCA will be allowed state-wide, are indicative of these changes.
This event will address the new face of energy and the impact of such aggregation on specific energy solutions. The focus will be on encouraging key stakeholders to get informed and to take action.
Key stakeholders in attendance will include:
  • Elected officials at the municipal and county level
  • Environmental leaders
  • Business people
  • Leaders focused on low and moderate income constituents
  • Investors
Key strategies to be addressed at the event include:
  • Community choice aggregation
  • Demand response
  • Development of local renewable energy (solar, wind, community solar, microgrids)
  • Storage of energy
  • Electric vehicles
  • Energy efficiency
People who should attend are those concerned about the impact of climate change, are seeking an effective strategy to reduce green house gas emissions and  eliminate fossil fuels, and are committed to using their time and talent to create a Clean Energy New York as a model for the nation.  We expect that elected officials at all levels, environmental leaders, business leaders, sustainability leaders, health leaders and those working specifically to eliminate fossil fuels would be particularly interested in this event.
