Join Family Volunteer Day

Come out and make a difference with families from all over Boston! On Saturday, November 18, 2017, volunteers of all ages and their families and friends will gather at the IUEC Local 4: International Union of Elevator Constructors located at 50 Park Street, Dorchester, MA 02122 to participate in the nation-wide Family Volunteer Day, a signature Points of Light day of service, powered by genterationOn.

Join us from 10am -12pm as we work together to create ESOL learning materials immigrants in Boston, including Journals, Lap Desks and Conversation "Jenga" games. 
Kid Friendly, 5+. If you at least 15 years old and have Registered with Boston Cares, you may sign up and attend Family Volunteer Day on your own.

This project is also open to Pending members who have registered with Boston Cares and have not yet attended an orientation.

Be an Ally for Immigrants at the ESOL Corps Training
Wednesday, November 15th | 6:00PM - 9:00PM
 
 
 
 
Corps volunteers are a part of a network of volunteers who share a passion for enhancing English skills for adult learners. Volunteers serve as classroom support, help students prepare for the TOEFL exams, and serve as conversation group leaders, classroom facilitators, and help students prepare for the TOEFL exams. Join us for a 3-hour interactive workshop on best practices helping adult ESOL learners to strengthen their language skills and build their confidence communicating in their everyday lives, at school, and at work. This workshop is appropriate for novices as well as experienced tutors wishing to update their skills. Come ready to actively participate!

The Friday Night Supper program needs your help to give the kitchen a deep clean in preparation for the seasons ahead.

Practice Interviews with Adults at
The Price Center

The Price Center empowers individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to thrive in their living, social and work communities. Volunteers are needed to help individuals prep for job opportunities through practice interviews. Volunteers will also provide feedback to the job seeker to help them best prepare for their next job interview.  This is a great opportunity to help job seekers!

Sort Donations and Staff Welcome Center for Puerto Rican Families

Sociedad Latina is looking for volunteers to help staff the Community Welcome Center for families leaving Puerto Rico after the devastation caused by Hurricane Maria. Volunteers are needed to help sort through donations, organize the donation room, and assist families in picking out donations to prepare them for the winter.
