Our community is in Week 3 of the effects of coronavirus (COVID-19) and it becomes important to us to communicate some essential thoughts.
First and foremost, we hope you know that the safety and health of our campers, our customers, and our staff, are always top-of-mind and are the foundation of our philosophy which informs each decision we make.
We strive to keep the Scampers premises as clean and germ-free as possible using cleaning protocols as prescribed by King County Board of Health. We've added to our normal cleaning protocols some COVID-19-specific cleaning protocols: frequent disinfecting of our door handles at our entries and throughout the building, the client relations desk countertops and payment processing machines, fences, gates and latches, and telephones. We also continue to stress to our staff the importance of using the CDC-recommended hand-washing health, and the need to stay home if they're unwell.
As the impact of COVID-19 evolves in our community, at Scampers we're making adjustments to our routines to be responsible business owners. You may notice that our staffing levels have dropped somewhat. With the drop in attendance, we have had to pare back in staffing. We're grateful that the state of Washington has a SharedWork program so we can be sure our staffers are not going to suffer too greatly during this downturn in business. They are all assured we will be ramping up their schedules again as our attendance re-adjusts. We sincerely hope that will be soon. Meanwhile, we intend to be staffed and ready to accommodate your pooches whenever the need arises. It will help us a lot if you can assist us by informing us when you plan to bring your pooches so we can be sure to have enough wranglers on hand.
We, Stina and Linda, are both seniors with underlying health vulnerabilities and are therefore working from home much more these days. We are available by phone to our excellent staff at all times, and are in constant contact online with them as they keep our enterprise running smoothly.
While we are all experiencing significant upheavals in our day-to-day lives, we are so grateful to have such a wonderful clientele and such a wonderful body of staff. Thank you all for your loyalty, support, and understanding. We're family, and we're going to get through this together.
Wishing you all continued health and comfort. We look forward to seeing you again soon.
