11:15 Traditional Service

This Sunday morning, we celebrate the fourth Sunday of Advent and light the candle of LOVE. Join us at 8:45 or 11:15 for worship, and at 10 o'clock for the education hour.

Christmas Eve services are at 5 pm, 8 pm and 10 pm.  The 5 o'clock family service is geared especially for children to better understand the true meaning of Christmas and features a live nativity.  Traditional candlelight services follow at 8 and 10 pm.

Expect all of the pews to be filled at the 5 o'clock service.  Come early!  If you prefer the calm quiet of Christmas Eve, consider the 8 or 10 o'clock services.  All three services  include the traditional singing of "Silent Night" as we share the light of Christ throughout the Sanctuary.

Spread Christmas Cheer...by delivering a Poinsettia!  Take a plant to people who were unable to attend Christmas Eve services or deliver a poinsettia to those working on Christmas Eve (the fire department, the police station, etc.) after the 10 o’clock service.  Deliveries to the home bound can be made December 25, 26 or 27.  Want to help? Help Fill the Food Tree for Brookside!   The most needed items are coffee, tea, cooking oil, canned fruit, breakfast cereals, spaghetti and spaghetti sauces, jelly, canned tuna, stew, sugar, salad dressings, mayonnaise, pickles and olives, canned chili, chicken and dumplings. There is also a great need for non-food items such as toilet paper, hand soap, napkins, bath soap, laundry soap, dish soap, paper towels, toothpaste, and household cleaners. Thank you for helping our brothers and sisters in need in Cleveland!

Hat & Mitten Tree
Our collection of hats, mittens, gloves scarves and socks for  the Northeast Ohio Coalition for  the Homeless is growing.  Claudia brought a bunch of her beautiful knit creations, and Hildegard's lovingly knitted hats are back again this year.   The students of Hilton Elementary are joining their hat and mitten tree with ours this year! Isn't that great?
Hang your donations on the tree (you don't have to make them yourself!) and they will be delivered to those in need this winter.  Want to go further?  Blankets are a big need, especially outdoor blankets with plastic on one side.
The Hat and Mitten tree is located on the main floor of the church, in the Narthex (the area just outside of the church sanctuary.)  Thank you for helping!

Year End Giving.  To ensure your tax deductible donations are credited to your 2017 giving, gifts must be received in the church office by December 31. That’s a Sunday this year!  Year end giving statements will be mailed to your home address by January 19.  Your giving history can be accessed anytime through our secure giving portal: www.onrealm.com/BrecksvilleMethodist.

Remember to RECYCLE all of your holiday paper this Christmas! Wrapping paper, packaging, boxes, holiday catalogs and cards can all be recycled.  If it's made of paper, don't throw it away.  Bring it to the bin, and we'll earn money for our hunger ministry!

Do you shop at Acme Fresh Market?  Save your receipts!  Our United Methodist Women are participating in the Acme Community Cash Back Program.  Save your register tapes dated August 10 through December 30 and bring them in the labeled box in the coat room and help earn money for UMW Missions!
