Help Foster Children With Your Everyday Grocery Shopping

If you use a Kroger Plus Card, link it to Foster Care Support (Community Rewards Program #11728) so that we receive a donation every time you shop. If you already have your card linked to us, it may be time to re-enroll.

You can help foster children every time you shop on Amazon. Please sign up for the Amazon Smiles program at and choose Foster Care Support Foundation as your charity. This costs you nothing and it is the same prices and merchandise as the regular but FCSF will receive a donation every time you make a purchase. Please make sure you log on to each time you make a purchase.
Foster Care Support needs large shipping boxes to mail clothing and toys to displaced children outside of metro-Atlanta. Please drop off at the donation center.
Best sizes are 18x18x18 or 24x18x18
A Note From Our Founder & ED
It's hard to believe that we are getting ready for a new year already. With every passing day, we see changes that you have helped make to improve the lives of thousands of children throughout the state of Georgia.
As each new year begins, a new challenge always presents itself at the  FCSF but with your support, we are ready to tackle it head on. -----------------------------------------------------------------
When I started this organization over 24 years ago to help displaced children, I had no idea how many lives it would touch. I am proud of the work everyone has done to help provide to an average of 65,000 children since the 2000 year incorporation and thank all of you for caring for children.
The foster care system is always changing and while our State has done a great job to increase support for our foster children and foster parents, at least 50% to 60% of the children that are victims of violence, drug abuse or neglect are ending up in relative and grandparent homes rather than in traditional foster care.
In the last couple of years, our children appointments have increased by 1000 additional annually but we have realized that 75% of our children we serve are living with grandparents or relatives.  The majority of these families have taken on the unexpected challenge of caring for another family member's children but do not receive the financial stipends or support as  the foster families receive.
This is an increasingly stressful situation since, while statistics show that most children do better when living with family rather than with strangers, they also show that stress, especially financial, can work against health and stability.  Our mission continues forward.
Read to see what's been happening at FCSF this year and learn how your help makes it all work.
Remember always, It's a "WE" Thing!

Over 250 "Grands Raising Grands" children were sponsored for Christmas and received gifts to open under their tree. Over 100 additional children's wish lists were filled from our financial sponsor donations. Thanks to Jim Kennedy for being our top sponsor for the GRG Christmas Wish event this year.
Many thanks also to our hundreds of volunteers and shoppers who made this possible including North Point Community Church, CHUBB, Keller Williams Hernandez Group, Bank of America, and Delta Sigma Theta sorority. Thanks also to Kim Welch for providing a gingerbread house kit for the kids to take home and make together. The difference you made may be felt throughout a lifetime.
The children had special surprises under the tree because of your generosity. FCSF continues to provide  throughout the year for those that come in throughout the year. These children are grandchildren or nieces and nephews and cousins taken in by relatives when abandoned or abused by biological parents. The ones served are not a part of the DFCS foster care system so do not receive a foster parent stipend and struggle to meet the unexpected financial burden raising an extra child to keep from losing them to the foster care system.

Foster Care Support Foundation is seeking 1,000 people to donate $25 or more per month or $300 annually to sponsor a child. Although we can't show you their faces by photos, email or Facebook, volunteers see them they spend time at FCSF choosing their clothing with their caretakers, receive toys, bikes, infant care items and/or school supplies. This will help make the difference from what we have to operate with and what we need to operate and continue to serve children. As of this newsletter, we have $75,000 still to raise.
You too can change a child's life, or perhaps 2 or 3!
Free Fall/Winter Clothes!
It's not too late to submit your request for winter clothing but only if not already done. Our staff has been working hard to process thousands of children for free winter items. This resource helps displaced children from preemie babies through teens in foster care base per-diem homes or children taken in by a grandparent or relative to keep them out of foster care.  Foster Care Support serves all counties in Georgia either by appointment or mail order.
Since children leave their homes with nothing but the clothing they are wearing, if you have a new intake, we will do our best to put you in asap to make sure your child is getting the items he or she needs.

Thank You from a Caregiver
"Lindsey loves her new toys and bike. She’s not had one since she outgrew her starter bike we’d picked up at a thrift shop. Thank you so very much for your generosity. The distribution center staff was so kind and she had a blast choosing clothing and books.

Volunteers needed!
We need 10,000 volunteers each year to help process and distribute free clothes and toys to over 4,500 children per year. Volunteer hours at the distribution center are Tuesday through Saturday from 9:30am-5pm. Individuals and groups are welcome. Children ages 12 to 15 may volunteer if accompanied by an adult but we are limited on the number of youth we can take at one time. Youth ages 16 and older may come without an adult but the volunteer waiver must be signed at the distribution center by the parent when arriving. In order to effectively plan our days, please email or call 770-375-0865 to sign up to help and let us know you.
