Dear supporters,

This year, for the sixth time, the New Jersey Highlands Coalition is conducting our 2019 Highlands Juried Art Exhibit: a collection of works inspired by the flora, fauna and scenery of the four-state Highlands Region, particularly New Jersey.

The first three Shows were displayed in a barn at Waterloo Village, part of Allamuchy State Park, during our Highlands Festivals at Waterloo.  Since then, the Shows have been displayed at the Morris Museum in larger and larger galleries.

As I write, this years collection is open to visitors.  I urge you to go visit – it’s our best and biggest yet -- and to join us at the September 12 reception, 6:30-8:30 pm (please rsvp to me if you want to come --  I need to make sure I have enough wine/beer and food!), at which time we will announce the winners.

Our trustee, photographer Dwight Hiscano, has curated all these shows, in recent years assisted by volunteer Sra Dutta. As this event continues to grow the Coalition has decided to create an Art Events Committee to help organize this Juried Art Exhibit, and we are seeking volunteers to serve on the Committee.

The only qualification asked of anyone interested in serving on the Committee is an interest and appreciation for art in any medium created by any age artist.  The number of people offering their time, talents and enthusiasm will guide the capacity and potentially additional events the Committee may take on.  However, providing Dwight and Sra with support for future Highlands Juried Art Exhibits will be the initial focus.

Please contact me, Julia Somers at julia@njhighlandscoalition.org or 973 588 7190 if you would like to come to the September 12 Reception at the Morris Museum, or if you have any questions about joining this special Committee.

Thanks and I look forward to seeing many of you at the reception.

Julia
