(Saturday-Sunday)
This tradition began in 1973 when the founders of the Heritage Guild of Collin County Holiday Tour first opened their historic homes to raise money to purchase the Dulaney House and Cottage and the grounds that eventually became Chestnut Square. Every year five or six homes and historic structures are decorated for Christmas and opened for the tour. The proceeds from ticket sales and an annual raffle are a major component of the ongoing operation of Chestnut Square. Tickets available online and are good for both days. Also in conjunction with this event, check out the free-to-attend craft bazaar and the tea luncheon ($15). Event runs Saturday, 9 a.m .-5 p.m., Sunday noon-5 p.m.

(Friday-Saturday) While you're in the mood to tour homes, you can visit three festive and fun homes on a Christmas Home Tour benefiting McKinney Christian Academy's Guatemala Mission Trip fund. Tour times are Friday, 9 a.m.-2 p.m. and 4 p.m.-8 p.m., and Sunday, 9 a.m.-2 p.m.
Purchase tickets online for $20 in advance, $25 at the door.
